An analytical solution to the problem of modeling bandpass nonlinear channels and evaluating the performance of digital communication systems operating on them is presented. A method based on a Volterra series representation of the overall channel is first proposed, which allows one to extend to nonlinearities with memory the well-known concepts of complex envelope of bandpass signals and low-pass equivalent of bandpass linear systems. The general results previously mentioned are then applied to digital satellite communication systems operating over nonlinear channels. The effect of a nonlinear amplifier located in the satellite is considered, in combination with that of transmitting and receiving filters located in the Earth stations. In addition, both uplink and downlink noise are taken into account. Basic advantages of this approach are the generality it offers to the analysis and the fact that it allows accurate evaluation of the error probability in a short computer time. 相似文献

Recently the performance of digital communication systems in the presence of impulsive atmospheric noise has been evaluated assuming a noise model which is in excellent agreement with experimental results. We evaluate the bit error probability for coherent phase-shift keying (CPSK) signaling assuming the same atmospheric noise model but considering a more reasonable representation of the communication channel which accounts for the simultaneous presence of Gaussian (always present) atmospheric noise and signal fading. 相似文献

Many practical multi-sensor tracking systems are based on some form of track fusion, in which local track estimates and their associated covariances are shared among sensors. Communication load is a significant concern, and the goal of this paper is to propose an architecture for low-bandwidth track fusion. The scheme involves intelligent scalar and vector quantization of the local state estimates and of the associated estimation error covariance matrices. Simulation studies indicate that the communication saving can be quite significant, with only minor degradation of track accuracy. 相似文献

A new pseudonoise (PN) ranging system is proposed for trackingof deep space probes, named the dual speed PN ranging system,that transmits two different PN sequences simultaneously through a PSK/PSK (phase-shift keying) dual speed communication channel.The dual speed PN ranging system improves the maximummeasurable range significantly, with no degradation of theacquisition time, when compared with usual PN ranging systems.According to the analysis, the tracking error of this system becomesas small as those of usual PN ranging systems when the inputsignal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is large enough. 相似文献

This paper investigates the effects of fading and predetection diversity on the error-rate performance of digital FM discriminator systems. Results are presented in graphs showing the relative improvement of the error rate for several types of diversity, and are compared with the well-known FSK systems. It is also shown that an optimum modulation index giving the minimum attainable probability of error for narrowband digital FM is not affected by the effect of fading, carrier-to-noise ratio, or the types and order of diversity. 相似文献

Significant performance improvements may be obtained in digital communication systems if error control coding is properly applied. However, selection of a coding scheme for specific applications is often a complicated task. The choice is affected by a set of system design goals. Some of these goals impose case-dependent conflicting requirements. Similar scheme selection problems exist in many engineering system design processes. A knowledge-combined neural network approach is developed and applied to optimum coding selection. The proposed approach utilizes a neural network trained not only by precedent examples but also by knowledge rules to draw conclusions. Space communications urgently need an effective transmission control mechanism. This paper presents an experimental, comparative analysis of window-based transmission control, rate-based transmission control, and a hybrid of the two over error-prone, congestion-free, high-latency, point-to-point space communication links simulated using the space-to-ground link simulation (SGLS) test-bed. The results revealed that the traffic shaping mechanism of rate-based transmission protocol is more effective than the bursting flow of window-based protocol over simulated space communication links with a high error rate and a long link delay. The window-based transmission mechanisms show performance degradation due to traffic bursts and frequent packet retransmissions caused by their acknowledgment (ACK)-clocked transmission control algorithms. Pure rate-control is always preferable to other mechanisms in the simulated congestion-free, error-prone, point-to-point, geostationary-Earth orbit (GEO)-space communication channels, and its advantages become more pronounced when the channel rates are asymmetric. The performance differences come from their different behavior in controlling data transmission. 相似文献

The effect of cycle slips of the carrier recovery phase-locked loop (PLL) on the performance of coherent M-ary phase-shift keyed (MPSK) systems is dealt with. It is shown that each cycle slip causes a 1 bit error in a differentially encoded and Gray encoded signal stream. 目前,传统航空测控通信所采用的纠错码大多是建立在高斯信道基础上的。然而,航空测控环境中不可避免存在着多种尖锐的噪声,测控通信纠错码的可靠性能在非高斯信道中尚未得到充分的研究。分析了一类国际航空遥测的分组Turbo码(BTC)在拉普拉斯白噪声信道下的译码和性能。将传统Chase迭代译码算法引入到拉普拉斯白噪声信道中,建立相应的数学模型,同时,基于该数学模型设计了3种不同的译码接收器下的BTC译码方案。仿真结果验证了该数学模型的正确性与可行性,在误码率为10-4时最佳译码方案相比于硬限幅接收机有3.7 dB的增益,相比原有的高斯信道下的接收机仅有0.6 dB的性能损失。 相似文献

Correctional Service Canada (CSC) has recently replaced the aging, out-of-date radio communications systems in all major CSC facilities with new conventional digital radio systems. Based on very specific and restrictive operational requirements coupled with developments in digital radio technology and the Associated Public Communications Officers (APCO) Project 25 digital radio standards, it was determined that digital radio communications would best meet CSC's needs. The CSC national radio replacement program was completed in March 2000. Switching to a digital radio communications system gave CSC an opportunity to consider changing the existing radio system from a number of conventional, single-site systems to a trunking system. Areas to be considered when determining the architecture for a radio communication network, whether radio trunking systems or conventional radio systems should be used, are presented, In addition, the paper will also outline the requirements and measures taken to keep the radio communication network active and operational while the equipment was converted from an analog technology to a digital one 相似文献

The function of the receiver in a binary digital communication system is to make a binary (?space?, ?mark? or ?"0?, ?1?) decision by comparing the signal values from the mark and space filters (or correlators) at known successive time intervals (?bit? or ?baud? time intervals). When the signal value out of the mark filter is greater than that out of the space filter, it is decided that mark or 1 is transmitted, and vice versa. It is of fundamental importance to know the exact instant of time at which the two filter outputs are to be compared. This is the problem of synchronization between the transmitter and the receiver. In this paper, we assume a system that is perfectly synchronized. In a practical system, the difference between the two filter outputs must differ from a threshold by some finite amount in order to cause the device to respond reliably. The examination of the effects of this dead zone (finite-width decision threshold) on digital transmission systems is of important practical interest. Its effects on binary differentially coherent phase-shift-keying, and m-level phase-shift-keying systems have been investigated previously. In this paper we consider its effects on binary coherent phase-shift-keying (CPSK), coherent orthogonal (CFSK), and noncoherent orthogonal (NCFSK) systems. 随着无人化智能移动装备在工业、交通等安全敏感领域的普及应用,民用导航定位系统中的定位安全问题日益突出。位置认证是对终端的物理位置声明进行认证的过程,是导航定位安全技术的重要组成部分。基于第五代(5G)移动通信网络的通导融合位置认证系统具有覆盖范围广、认证精度高、用户容量大、建设运维成本低等多重优势。本文首先介绍了多基站位置认证系统的检测判决原理,提出了漏检平均距离的定义作为位置认证系统精度的量化评价指标。在此基础上,通过数值仿真分析了信号带宽、基站同步误差、信噪比对位置认证系统精度的影响,并利用5G信道模型评估了典型场景下的位置认证系统的性能。结果表明,在具备3个以上的视距基站时,基于5G的通导融合位置认证系统可以实现米级的位置认证精度。 相似文献
