The response of a linear phased array with a matched filter connected at its output is investigated when a linear FM signal is incident on the array at an arbitrary angle. The filter is assumed to be matched to the linear FM signal. The dispersion produced by the array results in a mismatch at the receiver which depends on the scan angle and on the type of feed system used with the array. The problem of detecting coherent pulse trains with uniform amplitude in a clutter-plus-noise environment is considered. A radar processor for detecting targets moving radially with respect to the clutter is proposed. The minimum interpulse spacing of the transmitted signal is assumed long enough that returns are not received simultaneously from different ranges within a region of extended clutter, and the central frequency of the clutter power spectrum is postulated to be known. The processor is singled out as the linear filter, orthogonal to the clutter central frequency component, which yields the maximum ratio of peak signal power to average noise power. The filter can be implemented by slightly modifying the structure of the conventional matched filter. The performance of such a filter is compared with that achievable if full a priori knowledge of the input interference were available and with that of the conventional matched filter. This comparison is made on a signal-to-interference power ratio basis after assuming a transmitted signal consisting of equally spaced pulses and an interference characterized by an exponential covariance matrix.  相似文献

为了简化雷达系统硬件设计和降低成本,可以使用多个窄带成分来合成宽带信号,从而获得满足实际需要的合成距离像。针对合成宽带信号和雷达阵列的特点,详细分析了结合合成宽带信号及传统空域滤波器组情况下所合成距离像的失真原因,指出合成距离像的失真由形状变形和位置平移两部分组成,且这两种失真分别由各个空域滤波器输出幅度和相位的波动所引起。同时,推导出计算对应相位和幅度失真度的理论公式,并由此给出了当合成距离像存在可接受失真时阵列的临界条件。计算机数值仿真结果验证了以上结论。  相似文献

The case of linear, uniformly weighted phased arrays is examined via time and frequency domain analyses. Bounds that must be placed on array length, modulation frequency, modulation index ?, and scan angle relationships if excessive distortion is to be avoided in wideband angle-modulated communication systems are established. Distortion is shown to consist of odd harmonic terms. It is also shown that, for one class of equivalent RF signals, phased arrays produce approximately three times as much distortion in frequency-modulation (FM) systems as in phase-modulation (PM) systems. Graphs of distortion plotted as functions of signal and array parameters show that, for practical array sizes, distortion is a monotonically increasing function of the product of L and sin ? where L is the length of the array expressed in modulation wavelengths ?m and ? is the scan angle. In PM systems, distortion also increases monotonically with the modulation index ?. Plots of distortion versus L sin ? show that even relatively small arrays can produce intolerable distortion levels in wideband systems; e.g., an FM system having ? = 3,L = 0.35?m, and ? = 60 degrees exhibits approximately 20 percent distortion.  相似文献

The problem of optimal state estimation of linear discrete-time systems with measured outputs that are corrupted by additive white noise is addressed. Such estimation is often encountered in problems of target tracking where the target dynamics is driven by finite energy signals, whereas the measurement noise is approximated by white noise. The relevant cost function for such tracking problems is the expected value of the standard H/sub /spl infin// performance index, with respect to the measurement noise statistics. The estimator, serving as a tracking filter, tries to minimize the mean-square estimation error, and the exogenous disturbance, which may represent the target maneuvers, tries to maximize this error while being penalized for its energy. The solution, which is obtained by completing the cost function to squares, is shown to satisfy also the matrix version of the maximum principle. The solution is derived in terms of two coupled Riccati difference equations from which the filter gains are derived. In the case where an infinite penalty is imposed on the energy of the exogenous disturbance, the celebrated discrete-time Kalman filter is recovered. A local iterations scheme which is based on linear matrix inequalities is proposed to solve these equations. An illustrative example is given where the velocity of a maneuvering target has to be estimated utilizing noisy measurements of the target position.  相似文献

Null phase-shift polarization filtering for high-frequency radar   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
In order to effectively cancel the interference in polarization filtering, the parameters of the polarization filter should timely adapt to the variation of the polarization of the interference, which may impact the amplitude and phase of the desired signal that passes through the same polarization filter during the coherent integration time (CIT) and render the enhancement of the signal integration a failure. To avoid this, a null phase-shift polarization (NPSP) filter is proposed, which is composed of a linear polarization transformer (LPVT), a conventional single-notch polarization (SNP) filter and an amplitude/phase compensation device (A/PCD). The interference, which has polarization different from those of the desired target signal, can be suppressed completely while the target signal remains without distortion. Some applications of high-frequency (HF) radars for suppressing the radio interference are introduced. Simulation results from the experimentally derived data indicate that the improvement of the signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) can be expected to be more than 28 dB. The proposed NPSP filter is effective in HF radar or other coherent systems.  相似文献

The application of existing estimation theory to the problem of specification and performance of passive sonar spectral estimators is considered. The classification function is addressed, so that the signal is assumed to be present, and so that the energy arrival angle is known. The spatial filter considered is a line array of M equally spaced omnidirectional hydrophones. Signal and ambient noise are both zero-mean, wide-sense, stationary Gaussian random processes that differ in their spatial correlation across the face of the array. The signal is a plane wave that can be made totally spacially corrected between array elements by inserting delays between sensors to invert the signal propagation delay. The noise correlation is a function of frequency, bandwidth, element separation, and the relative time delay between sensors. Under these assumptions, the Cramer-Rao lower bound is derived for the class of unbiased estimates of signal power in a narrow frequency band at the hydrophone in the presence of correlated ambient noise of known power. The bound is examined numerically, resulting in a threshold phenomenon with M that constitutes a new design consideration. In addition, there is a striking insensitivity to realistic values of ambient noise correlation, and there are ranges in signal-to-noise ratio for which one gains more by increasing M than by increasing the bandwidth-time product. Specific processors, including a new unbiased estimator when noise power is unknown, are developed.  相似文献

A numerical method is developed for the calculation of steady-state FM distortion in a linear passive network from the character of the FM signal input and the steady-state transfer characteristics of the network. The method of calculating FM distortion requires the solution of a finite set of linear equations which is accomplished readily by a digital computer. To illustrate the use of the method, the FM distortion introduced by a Chebyshev-response bandpass filter is calculated for a range of network and input signal parameters.  相似文献

航空发动机降噪研究迫切需要一种叶轮机械管道内宽频噪声测量方法来指导降噪设计。为了研究管道内宽频噪声,利用沿管道内壁面布置的环形麦克风阵列对单级轴流风扇进行了噪声测量,通过测量信号与参考信号互相关以及奇异值分解(SVD)方法成功地得到管道内宽频噪声结果。结果表明:该方法不仅可以计算出管道内主要单音,而且可以计算宽广频率范围内的宽频噪声;并能有效分辨出管道内向前和向后传播的声功率。宽频噪声结果证实该方法可以应用到高背景噪声和硬壁反射下的管道内声场研究。  相似文献

The detection of signals in an unknown, typically non-Gaussian noise environment, while attempting to maintain a constant false-alarm rate, is a common problem in radar and sonar. The raw receiver data is commonly processed initially by a bank of frequency filters. The further processing of the outputs from the filter bank by a two-sample Mann-Whitney detector is considered. When the noise statistics in all filters are identical, the Mann-Whitney detector is distribution free, i. e., the false-alarm probability may be prescribed in advance regardless of the precise form of the noise statistics. The primary purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the potential advantage of nonparametric detectors over conventional detectors. The signal detection performance of the Mann-Whitney detector is compared to that of an ordinary linear envelope detector plus integrator in the presence of Gaussian and several hypothetical forms of non-Gaussian noise. This comparison is made for both uniform and nonuniform distributions of noise power across the filter bank. Besides providing a much more constant false-alarm rate than the conventional detector, the Mann-Whitney detector's signal detection performance is found also to be much less sensitive to the form of the noise statistics. In one case, its detection sensitivity is found to be 11 dB better than that of the conventional detector. Even when the noise power density is made moderately nonuniform across the filter bank, the detection performance of the Mann-Whitney detector is found not to be significantly affected.  相似文献

The effective weighting function for weather radar is defined. This weighting function considers the effects of both the transmitted signal and the receiver filter. It is used to assign effective ranges to samples taken at prescribed times. For uniformly distributed targets it is shown that "signal"-to-noise ratio depends on the receiver filter, transmitted signal envelope, and receiver noise spectral density. Maximization of this signal-to-noise ratio when range resolution constraints are imposed is discussed, and a receiver design approach specifically adapted for Doppler weather radars is developed.  相似文献

根据星敏感器光学镜头以径向畸变为主的特点,采用一阶径向畸变模型,利用摄像机标定中的径向排列约束(RAC),对其外部姿态和内参数进行在轨校准。以采集到的星点的图像坐标和对应导航星在天球坐标系下的赤经、赤纬信息作为滤波器的输入,外部姿态和内参数作为输出,构造相应的状态方程和观测方程,进行两次卡尔曼滤波迭代,结果作为校准参数的最优估计。仿真实验表明:本方法能消除内部参数与外部参数的耦合,校准过程不依赖外部姿态,且状态方程和观测方程均为线性方程,满足卡尔曼滤波迭代的最优条件,能够精确估计出星敏感器内外参数,在星点成像位置噪声标准差为0.05像素时,校准后x、y方向上的平均误差分别为0.044像素和0.049像素。  相似文献

A likelihood receiver for a Gaussian random signal process in colored Gaussian noise is realized with a quadratic form of a finite-duration sample of the input process. Such a receiver may be called a "filtered energy detector." The output statistic is compared with a threshold and if the threshold is exceeded, a signal is said to be present. False alarm and detection probabilities may be estimated if tabulated distributions can be fitted to the actual distributions of the test statistic which are unknown. Gamma distributions were fitted to the conditional probability densities of the output statistic by equating means and variances, formulas for which are derived assuming a large observation interval. A numerical example is given for the case in which the noise and signal processes have spectral densities of the same shape or are flat. The optimum filter turns out to be a band-limited noise whitener. The factors governing false alarm and detection probabilities are the filter bandwidth, the sample duration, and the signal level compared to the noise. Two sets of receiver operating characteristic curves are presented to complete the example.  相似文献

A replica correlator (matched filter) is an optimum processor for a receiver employing a pulse of continuous wave (CW) signal in a white Gaussian noise background. In an active sonar, however, when the target of interest has low Doppler shift and is embedded in a high reverberation background, this is not so. High sidelobes of the correlator frequency response pass a significant portion of the signal contained in the mainlobe of the reverberation spectrum. In order to reduce the sidelobes of the correlator output spectrum and at the same time keep the increase in its 3 dB bandwidth to a small amount, we propose lengthening of the replica of the transmitted signal and weighting it by a Kaiser window. It is demonstrated that by extending the weighted replica by 50 percent compared with the transmitted signal, it is possible to reduce the sidelobe levels to at least 40 dB below the mainlobe peak, with the concomitant increase of the 3 dB band-width by less than 5 percent. The degradation in signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) performance for such a ?mismatched? filter receiver with respect to the matched filter is less than 1.5 dB.  相似文献

In this paper, the problem of parameter estimation of the combined radar signal adopting chaotic pulse position modulation (CPPM) and linear frequency modulation (LFM), which can be widely used in electronic countermeasures, is addressed. An approach is proposed to estimate the initial frequency and chirp rate of the combined signal by exploiting the second-order cyclostationarity of the intra-pulse signal. In addition, under the condition of the equal pulse width, the pulse repetition interval (PRI) of the combined signal is predicted using the low-order Volterra adaptive filter. Simulations demonstrate that the proposed cyclic autocorrelation Hough transform (CHT) algorithm is theoretically tolerant to additive white Gaussian noise. When the value of signal noise to ratio (SNR) is less than 4 dB, it can still estimate the intra-pulse parameters well. When SNR = 3 dB, a good prediction of the PRI sequence can be achieved by the Volterra adaptive filter algorithm, even only 100 training samples.  相似文献

Optimization of the filter, the signal, and the signal and filter jointly are studied in the sonar environment under noise and reverberation limited conditions. The maximization of the receiver output signal-to-interference ratio is used as a performance criterion with unit energy constraint on both signal and filter. In the filter design problem, the optimum filter function is the solution of a linear integral equation. The kernel of the integral equation is a function of the target and medium scattering functions and the reverberation distribution. In the signal design problem, a similar type of integral equation is obtained as in the filter optimization problem. In the joint signal and filter design problem, it is shown that the optimum signal and filter functions are the solutions to a pair of linear integral equations with the largest (SIR)O. Several examples are investigated for different mediums and reverberation distributions with the finite matrix approximation method. An interative technique is used to compute the joint optimization of signal and filter.  相似文献

针对圆台共形阵列,建立了空时二维自适应处理(STAP)的杂波模型,给出了圆台阵列杂波抑制最优权值的计算方法。在此基础之上,为了实现可应用到实际环境中的自适应处理方法,进一步讨论了将局部联合域(JDL)降维算法推广至圆台阵列中的问题。得出了圆台阵列JDL算法降维变换矩阵的表达形式,研究了参考波束的数目选取、波束指向等因素对降维损失的影响。理论分析以及仿真结果表明,通过合理选择通道数、波束方位向指向间隔等参数,该算法能够减少自适应波束形成的计算量,而且可以用较少的训练样本获得较好的处理性能。  相似文献

We have demonstrated that by using an adaptive space-time array the interference from multiple, strong interferers plus multipath can be canceled down close to the noise floor without producing serious loss or distortion of a GPS signal. Design criteria are presented and limitations are examined. We also compare space-time processing with suboptimum space-frequency processing, and demonstrate by simulation that for equal computational complexity space-time processing slightly outperforms suboptimum space-frequency processing  相似文献
