Semi-empirical models are derived predominantly from satellite-borne observations. The nature of these observations restricts the applicability of the models mainly to the atmospheric regions sampled, i.e. the upper thermosphere. Current models are only capable of reproducing a zero-order approximation of the structure of the lower thermosphere. Based on selected examples, the progress in atmospheric research since CIRA-72 as well as the continuing deficiencies are demonstrated.  相似文献

根据电磁阀空载试验结果和电磁阀数学模型,对影响电磁阀响应时间的因素进行了分析.利用有限元方法和磁路分析法分别建立了拍合式电磁阀的仿真模型,用两种模型计算出不同弹簧刚度、弹簧预变形、衔铁质量、放电回路电阻、线圈匝数、非工作气隙下电磁阀的响应特性,以及这些参数对响应时间的影响程度.两种仿真计算结果和试验进行了对比,结果基本一致,根据结果分析了两种仿真方法的优缺点.总结出电磁阀在设计、生产时应重视的技术环节,对以后电磁阀设计工作具有指导意义.  相似文献

The study of Earth's radiation belts is one of the oldest subjects in space physics. Despite the tremendous progress made in the last four decades, we still lack a complete understanding of the radiation belts in terms of their configurations, dynamics, and detailed physical accounts of their sources and sinks. The static nature of early empirical trapped radiation models, for examples, the NASA AP-8 and AE-8 models, renders those models inappropriate for predicting short-term radiation belt behaviors associated with geomagnetic storms and substorms. Due to incomplete data coverage, these models are also inaccurate at low altitudes (e.g., <1000 km) where many robotic and human space flights occur. The availability of radiation data from modern space missions and advancement in physical modeling and data management techniques have now allowed the development of new empirical and physical radiation belt models. In this paper, we will review the status of modern radiation belt modeling.  相似文献

An important potential use of ocean color chlorophyll data is to determine other important properties of the marine biosphere, such as primary productivity, new production, and particulate fluxes at spatial scales larger and temporal scales longer than those possible with ground-based observations. Such determinations will likely progress from relatively simple empirical correlations to algorithms that are actually predictive models of ecosystem dynamics. As an exmaple, this paper demonstrates how an empirical correlation between nitrate concentration and new production can be understood by a simple productivity model. Several models are then constructed to examine the functional relationship between total production and surface chlorophyll. The empirical correlation is substantially different than the analogous relation in the model. Understanding the relationship between surface chlorophyll and productivity on a global scale will probably require families of models for various marine ecosystems.  相似文献

Exospheric temperatures of several reference atmosphere are reviewed and a recommendation is made for the exospheric temperature of a proposed mean CIRA. One of the deficiencies of CIRA 72 and other present thermospheric models is the representation of density changes with geomagnetic activity. This deficiency is illustrated with samples of data. The data show the effects of geomagnetic activity, particle precipitation, a solar proton event, and gravity waves. An empirical model developed from the unique AFGL satellite density data bank using multiple linear regression is reviewed. The present model is for low to moderate solar flux and quiet geomagnetic conditions, but it is planned to extend the model to active conditions. Good progress has been made since CIRA 72 was specified in our knowledge and understanding of the properties of the lower thermosphere, although there are still some unresolved problems. The biggest progress has been made in the theory of tidal effects and of particulate energy deposition and of electrojet heating. On the other hand, it is still not possible to define adequately the systematic variations of the lower boundary conditions of thermospheric models. This is due to lack of knowledge of the systematic variations of the structure properties in the 100 to 120 km altitude region and inadequate information on the mesospheric turbulence profile and variations in the turbopause altitude.  相似文献

In this report, we summarize the needs of space weather models, and recommend that developing operational prediction models, rather than transitioning from research to operation, is a more feasible and critical way for space weather services in the near future. Operational models for solar wind speed, geomagnetic indices, magnetopause, plasma sheet energetic electrons, inner boundary of ion plasma sheet, energetic electrons in outer radiation belt, and thermospheric density at low Earth orbit, have been developed and will be introduced briefly here. Their applications made a big progress in space weather services during the past two years in China.   相似文献

Satellite altimeters have been developed which have the capability of measuring the surface topography of the ocean over entire basins for time periods of several years with a precision of a few cm. The combination of these data with accurate satellite position information, subsurface measurements and models of the density field can be used to determine the general circulation of the ocean and its variability. The Topex altimeter oceanographic experiment proposed for the early 1990's requires a radial orbit accuracy approaching 10 cm. Considerable progress has been made at the Goddard Space Flight Center in developing precision orbit determination to support satellite altimetry analysis. This progress is attributed to the development of more accurate models of the earth gravity field, earth and ocean tidal effects, a reference coordinate system as well as improved drag and solar radiation pressure computations. This computational system has been used for the Seasat data acquired during the 1978 time period and has produced an rms radial accuracy of about 50 cm. A first step towards the development of a new Interim gravity model is presented. Global orbit determination accuracies have been improved using these new PGS-T1 and T2 fields.  相似文献

小行星探测与彗星探测是深空探测的重要方面。一般来说,小行星和彗星因质量都不足以使得万有引力克服应力达到流体静力学平衡,而具有强不规则的外形。研究强不规则天体引力场中的动力学行为及其内在机制,是探测器被不规则天体捕获并对其形成近距离探测轨道的基础。从引力场模型和动力学行为两个方面综述了强不规则天体引力场中动力学的研究进展,在引力场模型的研究方面介绍了强不规则天体引力场建模的球谐函数摄动展开模型、简单特殊体模型及多面体模型的研究现状,在动力学机制的研究方面介绍了强不规则天体引力场中的周期轨道和拟周期轨道、平衡点、流形、分岔与共振以及混沌运动的研究现状,指出了这些方面研究的重点与难点。分析了强不规则体引力场中动力学的研究趋势。  相似文献

针对星座卫星在轨运行时因操作或故障导致星座服务性能下降的现象,综述了星座备份策略研究的进展。首先,概述了导航星座、通信星座的基本情况和备份现状,归纳出不同星座的备份策略。其次,重点阐述了3种不同的星座备份策略模式,即在轨备份、停泊轨道备份及地面备份,给出了3种备份策略模式的特点。在此基础上,分别从卫星故障模式、卫星可靠性、卫星可用性、星座状态概率和星座系统可用性5个方面梳理了国内外星座备份策略关键因素的研究进展。再次,综述了目前星座备份策略分析的主要模型和方法,包括Petri网、马尔可夫链以及存储论。最后,对未来星座备份策略研究的发展方向进行了展望。  相似文献

In this paper I will review the motivation for measuring polarization in the X-ray band from astrophysical sources. Emission models designed to reproduce X-ray spectra can be tested using polarization, and polarization detected in other wavelength bands makes clear predictions as to the X-ray polarization. Polarization is a powerful tool to infer geometrical properties of sources which are too small to be spatially resolved. At the same time, there has been recent progress in instrumentation which is likely to allow searches for X-ray polarization at levels significantly below what was possible for early detectors. This paper will review the history of X-ray polarimetry, discuss some experimental techniques and the scientific problems which can be addressed by future experiments.  相似文献

Recent progress in the theoretical and observational investigation of middle atmosphere tides is reviewed. Theoretical advances include development of more realistic thermal excitation and numerical simulation models, investigation of seasonal — latitudinal and longitudinal variations in tidal structures, and the origin and effects of ‘unsteadiness’ in tidal oscillations over periods of days. Recent analyses of middle latitude radar data between 80 Km and 130 Km delineate consistent seasonal phase patterns in this region. Analyses of rocket data show stratosphere and lower mesosphere tides to be characterized by smaller amplitudes, shorter vertical scales, greater unsteadiness, and greater spatial variability than exhibited in the upper mesosphere and above. Results from the first two ATMAP (Atmospheric Tides Middle Atmosphere Program) campaigns are also discussed.  相似文献

We review the status of the best “off-the-shelf” tool available for the study of dynamical behavior of coronal transients and traveling interplanetary disturbances. This tool involves numerical solution of the initial-boundary value problem of multi-dimensional time-dependent magnetohydrodynamics. While this tool cannot address questions of turbulence and kinetic behavior, we suggest that deeper understanding of large scale phenomena can be obtained by direct comparison of the MHD models with multi-disciplinary synoptic observations of specific events on the sun, and in the corona and interplanetary space. Conclusions reached after a recent critique (based on a limited set of observational and numerical data) of the MHD paradigm's application to coronal transients are examined and found to have limited validity. Substantial observational progress was achieved during SMY through ground- and space-based observations of solar and interplanetary events. Many of these observations can confidently be associated with one another for specific events. These associations can be combined into a reasonable scenario of geometrical extent and mass, energy and momentum transfer in the framework of the solar-terrestrial chain of cause and effect. Several of these events during STIP Interval VII in August 1979 are used to provide test cases for an MHD simulation that is described with some details. The bringing-together of diverse observations is necessary in order to outline a program for the testing of dynamical models and their more physically-restricted approximations.  相似文献

The interface between the bright solar surface and the million-degree corona continues to hold the key to many unsolved problems in solar physics. Advances in instrumentation now allow us to observe the dynamic structures of the solar chromosphere down to less than 0.1 with cadences of just a few seconds and in multiple polarisation states. Such observational progress has been matched by the ever-increasing sophistication of numerical models, which have become necessary to interpret the complex observations. With an emphasis on the quiet Sun, I will review recent progress in the observation and modelling of the chromosphere. Models have come a long way from 1D static atmospheres, but their predictions still fail to reproduce several key observed features. Nevertheless, they have given us invaluable insight into the physical processes that energise the atmosphere. With more physics being added to models, the gap between predictions and observations is narrowing. With the next generation of solar observatories just around the corner, the big question is: will they close the gap?  相似文献

ALTEA-MICE will supplement the ALTEA project on astronauts and provide information on the functional visual impairment possibly induced by heavy ions during prolonged operations in microgravity. Goals of ALTEA-MICE are: (1) to investigate the effects of heavy ions on the visual system of normal and mutant mice with retinal defects; (2) to define reliable experimental conditions for space research; and (3) to develop animal models to study the physiological consequences of space travels on humans. Remotely controlled mouse setup, applied electrophysiological recording methods, remote particle monitoring, and experimental procedures were developed and tested. The project has proved feasible under laboratory-controlled conditions comparable in important aspects to those of astronauts' exposure to particle in space. Experiments are performed at the Brookhaven National Laboratories [BNL] (Upton, NY, USA) and the Gesellschaft für Schwerionenforschung mbH [GSI]/Biophysik (Darmstadt, FRG) to identify possible electrophysiological changes and/or activation of protective mechanisms in response to pulsed radiation. Offline data analyses are in progress and observations are still anecdotal. Electrophysiological changes after pulsed radiation are within the limits of spontaneous variability under anesthesia, with only indirect evidence of possible retinal/cortical responses. Immunostaining showed changes (e.g. increased expression of FGF2 protein in the outer nuclear layer) suggesting a retinal stress reaction to high-energy particles of potential relevance in space.  相似文献

Recent progress in the diagnosis of flare fast particles is critically discussed with the main emphasis on high resolution hard X-ray (HXR) data from RHESSI and coordinated data from other instruments. Spectacular new photon data findings are highlighted as are advances in theoretical aspects of their use as fast particle diagnostics, and some important comparisons made with interplanetary particle data. More specifically the following topics are addressed:
  • (a)RHESSI data on HXR (electron) versus gamma-ray line (ion) source locations.
  • (b)RHESSI hard X-ray source spatial structure in relation to theoretical models and loop density structure.
  • (c)Energy budget of flare electrons and the Neupert effect.
  • (d)Spectral deconvolution methods including blind target testing and results for RHESSI HXR spectra, including the reality and implications of dips inferred in electron spectra.
  • (e)The relation between flare in situ and interplanetary particle data.
