The phase-sensitive noncoherent MTI detects targets by relative motion between the target and an extended clutter background. In this type of MTI, the phase of the target is compared with the phase of the clutter in an adjacent range bin. Theoretical analysis of the system's performance is presented. Curves are presented showing the additional constant false-alarm rate (CFAR) loss which results when a "greatest of" logic is imple mented between the leading and lagging sets of reference cells. Thee analytical results for a square law detector and a Swerling case 1 fluctuating target are supplemented by simulation results for a nonfluctuating target, and envelope and logarithmic detector laws.  相似文献

The Pade approximation (PA) method is used to analyze the detection performance of single and multiple pulse radar systems operating in K-distributed clutter and thermal noise. Simple approximations for false-alarm and detection probabilities are obtained, using lower order moments for the detection decision statistic. Both envelope and squaring detector laws are considered, with noncoherent integration, for independent and correlated K clutter. The target is assumed to be pulse-to-pulse Rayleigh fading. When the cumulative drift in the center frequency of a binary split-phase FSK signal exceeds the peak deviation of the signal, a conventional noncoherent receiver (i.e., one provided with only two IF filters) may be unable to achieve the probability of error per bit which the designer desires. This limitation may be overcome if the receiver is provided with a bank of more than two contiguous filters (each followed by an envelope detector) tospan the total IF band the instantaneous IF signal might occupy. It is shown that the probability of error per bit for such a receiver is a function of 1) the ratio F of peak frequency deviation to peak frequency drift, 2) the number M of IF filter/detectors, and 3) the signal-to-noise ratio ? in the output of the filter containing the signal. It is further shown thatfor a given value of F an increase in M reduces the amount of transmitter power the communication system designer must provide to yield a given probability of error per bit.  相似文献

Hansen's method for obtaining the threshold for a speciried false alarm probability following noncoherent integration after square law detection is applied to finding the inverse of the incomplete gamma function. The method is algebraic and direct, circumventing the necessity for repeated evaluation of an integral or of a finite series. The method is applied to finding any specified percentile of the chi-square distribution and to finding the required signal-to-noise ratio for a specified detection probability of a Swerling II target.  相似文献

A technique for suppressing second-time-around radar returns using pulse-repetition interval (PRI) modulation is presented and analyzed. It is shown that a staggered PRI radar system can offer considerable improvement over a nonstaggered radar system in rejecting second-time-around returns which cause false alarms. This improvement is a function of detector implementation (noncoherent integrator or binary integrator), the number of staggered PRIs, the quiescent false alarm number, the Swerling number of the false return, the transmitted signal power, the second-time-around noise power, and the quiescent noise power of the radar. Small changes in transmitted signal power can be traded off with the quiescent false alarm number to suppress the bogus return significantly. In addition, for a noncoherent integrator, all other parameters being equal, if the second-time-around return is a Swerling case II or IV target, then there is an optimum number of staggered PRIs that can be chosen to minimize the likelihood of its detection. It is also shown that the binary integrator significantly reduces the number of second-time-around return detections when compared with the noncoherent integrator. Power estimates from smoothed detector outputs of stationary signals are analyzed for linear, square law, and logarithmic receiverdetectors. Smoothing is accomplished with a first-order recursive digital filter. lnput amplitude is assumed to be Rayleigh distributed and detector output samples independent. An effective technique for removing range ambiguities (detections at ranges other than the true range of the object) arising when using a burst waveform is to transmit two bursts with different pulse repetition frequencies nearly simultaneously and then to process their outputs nonlinearly. This correspondence introduces two nonlinear processors which combine coincidence detection with either noncoherent multiplication or integration. It is shown that the combined false alarm and ambiguity removal performance of these nonlinear processors is superior to the performance of coincidence detection, noncoherent multiplication, or noncoherent integration when used separately.  相似文献

A method is presented for calculating the performance of linear and square-law detectors in detection schemes that employ noncoherent integration. The method consists of transforming the coherent characteristic function, which is usually easy to obtain to a noncoherent moment generating function describing the test statistic of a linear or square-law detector. The method provides a single mathematical framework for many signal models (both classical and new) and can be implemented using standard numerical routines. Although the method is not always optimum in terms of computing speed for specific classical models, its common approach for all signal models makes it very efficient in term of learning and implementation times. Classical results as well as results for an extended set of target models consisting of an arbitrary number of constant amplitude random phase returns are presented to demonstrate the technique. It is shown for the signal parameters considered that the performance difference between the linear and square-law detectors is relatively insignificant  相似文献

Analyses are presented of the performance of binary and M-ary coherent and noncoherent communication systems operating in the impulsive atmospheric radio noise environment. The receiver is usually a maximum likelihood detector for white Gaussian interference and therefore has the form of a parallel bank of matched filters followed by decision circuitry. By employing a Poisson or generalized Shot noise model for the impulsive noise with a suitable probability density function (pdf), closed-form expressions and bounds of error probabilities for M-ary noncoherent and coherent amplitude-shift keying (ASK), phase-shift keying (PSK), and frequency-shift keying (FSK) systems are obtained and the results discussed.  相似文献

In this paper is formulated the problem of optimization of the improvement factor of a nonrecursive MTI by minimization of a quadratic form. The minimum normalized clutter output (a reciprocal of the average improvement factor) is the minimum eigenvalue of this quadratic form, and the corresponding eigenvector is the optimal weight to be used in this filter. By use of classic matrix theory, some properties of this MTI improvement factor are shown, namely, that it is bounded and is a monotonic function of the clutter spectrum variance. Also discussed is the limit of an MTI system having a large number of cancellers. Finally, the problem of a staggered-PRF MTI filter is examined, for which it is shown that its improvement factor is bounded by two equivalent constant-PRF MTI systems. One of these systems has a PRF equal to the lowest PRF of the staggered-PRF system, while the other has a PRF equal to the highest PRF of the staggered system.  相似文献

 许多作者讨论过非参量秩检测器在雷达信号处理中的应用。秩检测器首先把接收波形样本转换为秩。如果检验单元和参考单元的噪声样本独立和分布,则无信号时检验单元的秩具有离散均匀分布,与输入噪声的分布无关。所以秩检测器可能提供分布自由的恒虚警率性能。量化秩检测器(QRD)只对二进量化秩进行积累,所以它实现起来很经济。本文分析QRD的检测性能。证明QRD有一最佳秩量化门限(ORQT)。确定高斯和韦伯噪声中的ORQT。另外,把QRD同高斯噪声中的局部最佳秩检测器和最佳参量检测器进行比较。  相似文献

The problem of achieving the optimum moving target indicator (MTI) detection performance in strong clutter of unknown spectrum when the set of data available to the estimation of clutter statistics is small due to a severely nonhomogeneous environment is studied. A new adaptive implementation, called the Doppler domain localized generalized likelihood ratio processor (DDL-GLR), is proposed, and its detection performance is studied in detail. It is shown that the DDL-GLR is a data-efficient implementation of the high-order optimum detector and has several advantages of practical importance over the adaptive processors  相似文献

Image exploitation technology approaches have generally focused on the detection and spatial analysis of stationary groups of objects on the ground using various sensors. While spatial arrangement is clearly necessary in analyzing military formations, it is usually not sufficient. Typically the arrangement must be examined within some context in order to interpret a pattern of deployment. For moving objects the spatial arrangement of the group relative to the direction of motion is key to recognizing the formation. By examining ground moving target indicator (MTI) radar data over time, motion can be inferred and used to establish a context for interpreting the spatial arrangement of the data. New techniques that exploit the multitemporal nature of MTI data are described. The first is a space-time clustering technique that locates compact groups of objects that persist in time. The technique Is an application of Marr and Hildreth's edge detection methodology to the dual problem of region segmentation, or more accurately, volumetric segmentation of space-time. The second technique is based on the use of the Hough transform for recognizing moving formations such as columns, wedges, and lines abreast by analyzing the shape of clustered MTI detections (specifically the orientation of linear arrangements within the group) with respect to their direction of motion. A general analysis of the effect of an arbitrary power-series nonlinear amplifier followed by a coherent mixing device on signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is performed. An expression is derived for the improvement factor which is defined as the logarithm of the ratio of the output SNR to the input SNR. This expression is applicable to the coherent amplitude detector and phase locked loop as well as noncoherent amplifier by appropriate selections of the detection angle. Moreover, the improvement factor can be obtained for noise with an arbitrary amplitude distribution. To demonstrate the applicability of this analysis, the improvement factors of the nonlinear amplifiers such as a power-law amplifier and a power-series amplifier with positive and negative discriminations are numerically calculated for the cases where the input noise amplitude distributions are Rician and triangular.  相似文献

针对航空发动机动态特性随飞行状态和飞行条件的变化范围大,单一控制器很难保证全包线内控制效果的问题,在航空发动机LPV模型基础上提出1种平滑过渡的切换控制方法。该方法根据发动机进口条件对飞行包线区域进行划分,按照多项式平方和规划理论以及平滑过渡切换律求取各子区域的Lyapunov函数及LPV控制器。在某型涡扇发动机上进行仿真验证,结果表明:所设计的切换LPV控制器在不同高度、马赫数和转速条件下均具有良好的性能和控制精度,可以实现平滑切换。  相似文献

在进行大包线飞行控制律设计中,需将飞行包线分为几个区域,针对各个区域设计线性控制律,采用多个线性控制律来近似替代所需的非线性控制律,本文中线性控制律采用PID控制结构,若用传统PID控制律参数整定方法,工作烦琐、设计时间长,而且控制效果不是很好,提出运用遗传算法优化控制律参数,并针对遗传算法局部寻优能力差、收敛速度差、易早熟等缺点,对其进行了几点改进,为提高鲁棒性,对其适应函数进行了设计,针对某机型某个区域的俯仰控制进行了PID控制律设计仿真,利用改进的遗传算法对其参数进行优化,结果表明,该方法在23代就能得到最优控制参数,而且使系统动态性能有了较明显的提高。  相似文献
