Here we review the efforts of a number of recent results that use old tracers to understand the build up of the Galaxy. Details that lead directly to using these old tracers to measure distances are discussed. We concentrate on the following: (1) the structure and evolution of the Galactic bulge and inner Galaxy constrained from the dynamics of individual stars residing therein; (2) the spatial structure of the old Galactic bulge through photometric observations of RR Lyrae-type stars; (3) the three-dimensional structure, stellar density, mass, chemical composition, and age of the Milky Way bulge as traced by its old stellar populations; (4) an overview of RR Lyrae stars known in the ultra-faint dwarfs and their relation to the Galactic halo; and (5) different approaches for estimating absolute and relative cluster ages. 相似文献

In this paper the computer aided development of biomechanical pilot models for the prediction of roll ratcheting (RR) is described. At first the phenomenon of RR is characterized as an aircraft-pilot coupling problem. Existing biomechanical pilot models for the prediction of RR are presented. A computer aided procedure for the establishment of biomechanical pilot models is described by setting up an existing pilot model. The procedure is based on the application of a software package for multibody system calculations (SIMPACK) and a control system design software tool (MATLAB/SIMULINK). The first is used to determine the pilot model equations of motion and the latter is applied to estimate the model parameters as well as to conduct further evaluations. With the help of this procedure, deficiencies of the existing state-of-the-art biomechanical pilot model are shown. Due to these deficiencies new pilot models have been established and are assessed on the basis of the parameters identified. According to this assessment some pilot models suitable for further applications are selected and used to investigate a RR incident. In order to predict the RR potential, the stability of the aircraft-pilot loop, which contains a biomechanical pilot model and the augmented aircraft model to be investigated, is assessed. 相似文献

Ernst Mach recorded experimentally, in the late 1870s, two different shock-wave reflection configurations and laid the foundations for one of the most exciting and active research field in an area that is generally known as Shock Wave Reflection Phenomena. The first wave reflection, a two-shock wave configuration, is known nowadays as regular reflection, RR, and the second wave reflection, a three-shock wave configuration, was named after Ernst Mach and is called nowadays Mach reflection, MR.A monograph entitled Shock Wave Reflection Phenomena, which was published by Ben-Dor in 1990, summarized the state-of-the-art of the reflection phenomena of shock waves in steady, pseudo-steady and unsteady flows.Intensive analytical, experimental and numerical investigations in the last decade, which were led mainly by Ben-Dor's research group and his collaboration with Chpoun's, Zeitoun's and Ivanov's research groups, shattered the state-of-the-knowledge, as it was presented in Ben-Dor (Shock Wave Reflection Phenomena, Springer, New York, 1991), for the case of steady flows. Skews's and Hornung's research groups joined in later and also contributed to the establishment of the new state-of-the-knowledge of the reflection of shock waves in steady flows.The new state-of-the-knowledge will be presented in this review. Specifically, the hysteresis phenomenon in the RR↔MR transition process, which until the early 1990s was believed not to exist, will be presented and described in detail, in a variety of experimental set-ups and geometries.Analytical, experimental and numerical investigations of the various hysteresis processes will be presented. 相似文献

A theoretical counterpart to the Barnes-Evans relation between stellar surface brightness and V-R color has been calculated from model atmospheres for parameters appropriate to RR Lyrae stars. Such a relation can be used to derive stellar angular diameters from V,R photometry and, when applied to variable stars and combined with a radial velocity curve, to derive radii, distances, and absolute magnitudes by the method of Barnes et al. (1977, MNRAS,178, 661). This was done for RR Lyr and X Ari using the photometry of Moffett and Barnes (1980, private communication) and radial velocities from the literature. The resulting absolute magnitudes are Mv = ± 0.59 + 0.25 for X Ari and Mv = 0.61 ± 0.35 for RR Lyr. The method is shown to be a very accurate way of determining radii, distances, and absolute magnitudes for RR Lyrae stars which compares very favorably to the variations of the Baade-Wesselink technique currently in use. 相似文献

为提高某飞机制造企业产品设计、工艺规划和工装设计的协同设计效率和响应速度,对三者之间的映射机理进行研究。首先依据企业需求,定义飞机设计域、工艺域和工装域的信息构成;然后,明确飞机设计-工艺-工装之间的有机联系,构建基于多色集合理论的分层映射模型,给出映射模型的建模原理和建模流程,从而实现飞机部件从设计特征到工装概念设计特征的映射;最后,开发了相关设计工具并在该公司某机型舱门骨架的装配工艺规划和工装概念设计中进行应用验证,为实现飞机设计-工艺-工装的一体化设计奠定了理论基础和实践基础。 相似文献
