The Cloud Profiling Radar (CPR) for the upcoming CloudSat Mission is a spaceborne 94-GHz nadir-looking radar that measures the power backscattered by clouds as a function of distance from the radar. This sensor is expected to provide cloud measurements at a 500-m vertical resolution and a 1.5 km horizontal resolution. CPR will operate in a short-pulse mode and will yield measurements at a minimum detectable sensitivity of -28 dBZ.  相似文献

Radar return data from airborne jet aircraft were collected and analyzed to determine the presence of consistent, dominant radar returns of point scatterers on aircraft simulating landing conditions. These measurements were performed by integrating two separate X-band radars into one system with the ability to simultaneously track and image aircraft. The multifaceted Spaceborne Imaging Radar-C/X-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SIR-C/X-SAR) was successfully flown twice in 1994 aboard the Shuttle Endeavour as part of an international imaging radar mission. The United States SIR-C operated at L- and C-band, each with multiple polarization, utilizing an active phased array antenna. The German/Italian X-SAR operated at X-band with a single polarization. SIR-C and X-SAR operated synchronously to collect data over common sites. Data were collected for repeat-track interferometric processing at all three frequencies. A total of 143 hours (93 terabits) of SAR data were digitally recorded on tape over the two flights for subsequent processing in the U.S., Germany, and Italy. This advanced multifrequency/multipolarization system has produced a rich radar data set for Earth scientific investigation and demonstration of spaceborne radar remote sensing capabilities  相似文献

雷达图像仿真是飞行仿真的重要组成部分,而雷达地形数据库为雷达图像仿真提供基本的数据支持。为构建满足仿真精度与实时性要求的雷达地形数据库,对相关关键技术进行了研究。在分析雷达图像仿真原理的基础上,研究了雷达地形数据库在分布式飞行仿真系统中的应用方式和组成形式。根据所用数据源的不同,对雷达地形建模技术进行了分类,并分析了不同建模方法的优缺点。比较了网格式与多边形式2种数据存储与调度技术的特点和适用性,指出多分辨率表示技术雷达地形建模中的重要性,给出了一种材质数据多分辨率映射的基于材质最大出现概率的子取样方法。对机载雷达实波束地形测绘成像进行了仿真。  相似文献

Preliminary results of the ETS-II millimeter and centimeter wavelength propagation experiments are presented based on data collected over one year. Rain attenuation is discussed primarily from the statistical point of view. At 34.5 GHz attenuation in excess of 5, 10, and 19.5 dB were observed 1, 0.3, and 0.1 percent of the test time (5500 hr), respectively. At 11.5 GHz attenuation in excess of 2.5, 4.3, 6.3, 10, and 15.5 dB were observed 0.1, 0.03, 0.01, 0.003, and 0.001 percent of the test time, respectively. Duration time of attenuation is also examined for the benefit of a link design. The longest duration of attenuation of the 34.5-GHz wave exceeding 5 dB was about 150 min. At 11.5 GHz, the longest duration of attenuation in excess of 3 dB, was 60 min and that in excess of 6 dB was 10 min. Rain attenuation is discussed also with relation to the radar and the rain gauge data. Depolarization data of 34.5-GHz and 11.5-GHz waves are orocessed statistically, and it is shown that cross-polarization discriminations in excess of 21.5 dB and 29 dB are observed 0.1 percent of the test time at 34.5 GHz and 11.5 GHz, respectively.  相似文献

Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is an airborne (or spaceborne) radar mapping technique for generating high resolution maps of surface target areas including terrain. High resolution is achieved by coherently combining the returns from a number of radar transmissions. The resolution of the images is determined by the parameters of the emissions, with more data giving greater resolution. A requirement of the Microwave Radar Division's SAR radar is to provide classification of targets. This paper presents a technique for enhancing slant range resolution in SAR images by dithering the carrier centre frequency of the transmitted signal. The procedure controls the radar waveforms so they will optimally perform the classification function, rather than provide an image of best quality. It is shown that a Knowledge-Based engineering approach to determining the waveform of the radar gives considerably improved performance as a classifier of targets (of large radar cross-section), even though the corresponding image is degraded  相似文献

The US Army ERDEC is developing advanced aerosol systems to combat threat surveillance, fire control, and seeker systems operating in the visible, infrared, and millimeter wave portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. One such system is the M56 multispectral smoke generator, which presently operates in the visible and infrared portions of the spectrum; a millimeter wave (MMW) Module is in development to extend the M56 spectral range. This paper documents preliminary results of a field demonstration test of the M56 MMW Module. An MMW instrumentation radar was modified to simulate the scan pattern and radar parameters of a tactical battlefield surveillance radar system. A test grid was populated with both stationary and moving tactical targets, and the radar scanned the grid to simulate a surveillance radar in operation. Once a realistic tactical engagement scenario was developed, MMW aerosols were deployed to demonstrate the impact such aerosols could have on radar detection and classification performance  相似文献

The temporal decorrelation characteristics of X-band radar backscatter from wind-influenced vegetation were investigated using a short-range CW radar. Radar reflectance data were gathered on various types of individual trees from a distance of approximately 30 m. The windspeed was monitored during each measurement, which lasted 5 s. The crown cover and the mean leaf area of the trees were also recorded. Autocovariance plots were generated for each measurement, from which the decorrelation time was estimated. As expected, the return signals decorrelated faster at higher wind speeds. However, the decorrelation time was also found to depend on the tree type, tree structure, and leaf cover characteristics. Measured decorrelation times for moderate winds (7-9 m/s) were often between 40-60 ms, although the lowest decorrelation time measured under these conditions was 14 ms for the Eastern Cottonwood. In lighter winds (1-4 m/s), decorrelation times were much longer, and there was substantial spread in the data  相似文献

A review is given of recent activities undertaken in the Institute of Radio Astronomy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for the development of high-resolution radars. The radars developed include 95- and 36-GHz cloud radars and an airborne, Ku-band SAR radar system. They are capable to perform real-time, high-resolution measurements. The set-up of these instruments, the novel technical solutions, and the signal processing technique introduced are discussed. The results obtained with such instruments during measurement campaigns are presented as well.  相似文献

雷达告警设备是现代作战飞机不可或缺的雷达对抗设备,主要用于对敌方雷达威胁信号的告警.分析了分层结构的雷达告警设备软件的特点,借鉴集成测试中自底向上增量式集成策略,提出了一种综合运用调试、插桩和仿真的配置项测试方法.测试结果表明,方法对此类以数据处理功能为核心、分层结构设计的嵌入式软件测试,有很好的借鉴作用.  相似文献

针对测速雷达在目标旋转时,由对称天线导致的下行信号干涉问题,通过理论分析远场条件下信号干涉合成方向图变化情况和双基微多普勒计算方法,提出了一种分析干涉区前后多普勒阶跃的方法。通过分析测速雷达记录数据中AGC(Automatic Gain Control,自动增益控制)电平、多普勒和综合误差电压,再利用小波变换和自相关方法,可以提取微多普勒信息和微多普勒周期。理论分析和数据验证可知,信号干涉区出现在对称天线中间±20°左右,雷达接收AGC电平在干涉区下降10~20dB,多普勒差分出现峰值,微多普勒在干涉区前后出现正负峰值,综合误差电压会显著增大。这些结论有利于认识干涉现象对测速设备接收信号的影响。  相似文献

With the increased availability of coherent wideband radars there has been a renewed interest in radar target recognition. A large bandwidth gives high resolution in range which means target discrimination may be possible. Coherence makes cross-range resolution and radar images possible. Some of the problems of classifying high resolution range profiles (HRRPs) are examined and simple preprocessing techniques which may aid subsequent target classification are investigated. These techniques are applied to HRRP data acquired at a local airport using the Microwave Radar Division (MRD) mobile radar facility It is found that Boeing 727 and Boeing 737 aircraft can be reliably distinguished over a range of aspect angles. 介绍了嵌入式仿真技术及其发展,将嵌入式仿真与雷达模拟训练相结合,构成了能够嵌入到机械扫描雷达实装的模拟训练系统。描述了对嵌入式仿真训练系统的结构组成以及部分模块的功能,研究了模拟雷达视频回波数据的方法和模型,包括目标回波、地物杂波、海杂波、气象杂波、有源干扰和接收机内部噪声,利用数学模型计算回波的强度、方位、距离等特性,调制实际录取的回波数据,生成与态势设置参数相应的模拟回波数据,能够对信号处理操作和抗干扰操作做出响应。通过对视频回波进行仿真,由终端显示画面可知模拟的回波数据具有较高的逼真度,经测试模拟视频回波能够被雷达显控终端识别。  相似文献

It covers the period from 1978 through 1987 and was prepared under the supervision of the Vice Chairman of the CIE Radar Society. It follows the format of the IEEE AES Cumulative Index on Radar Systems. Entries are listed chronologically under each subject heading. All papers listed have been released for foreign acquisition. 雷达导引头是导弹的关键部件,决定着导弹的综合作战能力。文章针对雷达导引头技术状态评估进行研究。首先,基于测试数据对雷达导引头的关键参数进行归一化处理,并引入时间修正的方法,依据装备退化规律得到装备的近期技术状态。然后,使用三角模糊数理论计算参数隶属度和可信度水平,在此基础上使用ER算法对雷达导引头特征参数的测试数据进行评估。实验使用某单位所贮存雷达导引头测试数据进行验证,表明该算法能够实现雷达导引头技术状态的实时评估,并得出评估结果的可信度。最后,基于技术状态评估结果进行雷达导引头检测规划,为合理控制雷达导引头的检测次数提供支持。  相似文献

The Lunar Radar Sounder (LRS) onboard the KAGUYA (SELENE) spacecraft has successfully performed radar sounder observations of the lunar subsurface structures and passive observations of natural radio and plasma waves from the lunar orbit. After the transfer of the spacecraft into the final lunar orbit and antenna deployment, the operation of LRS started on October 29, 2007. Through the operation until June 10, 2009, 2363 hours worth of radar sounder data and 8961 hours worth of natural radio and plasma wave data have been obtained. It was revealed through radar sounder observations that there are distinct reflectors at a depth of several hundred meters in the nearside maria, which are inferred to be buried regolith layers covered by a basalt layer with a thickness of several hundred meters. Radar sounder data were obtained not only in the nearside maria but also in other regions such as the farside highland region and polar region. LRS also performed passive observations of natural plasma waves associated with interaction processes between the solar wind plasma and the moon, and the natural waves from the Earth, the sun, and Jupiter. Natural radio waves such as auroral kilometric radiation (AKR) with interference patterns caused by the lunar surface reflections, and Jovian hectometric (HOM) emissions were detected. Intense electrostatic plasma waves around 20 kHz were almost always observed at local electron plasma frequency in the solar wind, and the electron density profile, including the lunar wake boundary, was derived along the spacecraft trajectory. Broadband noises below several kHz were frequently observed in the dayside and wake boundary of the moon and it was found that a portion of them consist of bipolar pulses. The datasets obtained by LRS will make contributions for studies on the lunar geology and physical processes of natural radio and plasma wave generation and propagation.  相似文献
