Switch-mode DC-to-AC inverters using DC-to-DC converter topology have many advantages over the traditional bridge-type inverter. A bidirectional power circuit combined with a nonlinear robust control is proposed to form a high performance inverter. The output voltage of the inverter can be stabilized regardless of large changes in input voltage and output current. The distortion near the zero crossing point can be minimized. The load of the inverter can be resistive, inductive, or capacitive. Simulation results and experimental verification are provided  相似文献

The series resonant converter is analyzed in steady state, and for constant switching frequency the output current and voltage characteristics are found to be ellipses. The converter operating point can then be easily obtained by superimposing a load line on these elliptical characteristics. Peak resonant capacitor voltage and inductor current are also plotted in the output plane and are dependent to first order only on output current. When peak voltage and current are plotted in this manner, the dependence of component stresses on operating point is clearly revealed. The output characteristics are modified to include the effect of transistor and diode voltage drops, and experimental verification is presented.  相似文献

A novel active snubber soft switching method is proposed. The unique location of the resonant inductor and capacitor ensures low current and voltage stresses in the converter. An analytical study of a boost dc-dc converter with the proposed active snubber method is presented in detail to illustrate its operation principles and design considerations. By simple modification, this soft switching method is also suitable for ac-dc boost topology, especially for high power-factor-correction (PFC) universal interface applications. A 500 W prototype system has been made to simulatively and experimentally verify the performance of the soft switching.  相似文献

A new dc-dc converter featuring a steep step-down of the input voltage is presented. It answers a typical need for on-board aeronautics modern power architectures: power supplies with a large conversion ratio able to deliver an output voltage of 1–1.2 V. The proposed structure is derived from a switched-capacitor circuit integrated with a buck converter; they share the same active switch. The proposed solution removes the electromagnetic interference (EMI) emission due to the large di/dt in the input current of the switched-capacitor power supplies. Compared with a quadratic buck converter, it presents a similar complexity, a smaller reduction in the line voltage at full load (but less conduction losses due to smaller input inductor current and capacitor voltage), lower voltage stresses on the transistor and diodes, lower current stresses in the diodes, and smaller size inductors. A similar structure using a buck-boost converter as the second stage is also presented. The experimental results confirm the theoretical developments.  相似文献

模块化多电平换流器(MMC)在中高压直流输电中得到了广泛的研究和应用。其内部环流的存在是MMC的一种重要现象。在MMC的拓扑结构及其内部环流产生机理的基础上,利用二倍频负序旋转坐标变换,把换流器内部的三相环流分解为两个直流分量,并提出了相应的环流抑制方法。仿真结果证明,利用坐标变换提出的环流抑制控制器可以有效地消除桥臂电流中的环流分量,减小桥臂电流的畸变程度,同时不会对MMC外部输出的交流电压和电流产生负面影响。  相似文献

Results of a theoretical and experimental investigation of a capacitive-loaded push-pull parallel-resonant DC-DC converter (CL-PPRC) are presented and discussed. The push-pull parallel-resonant converter (PPRC) is driven by a lower-than-resonance frequency and the secondary voltage is rectified and smoothed by a capacitive filter. The CL-PPRC is shown to operate in the zero voltage switching (ZVS) mode with a boost-like DC transfer ratio that is approximately linear with the period of the switching frequency. Experimental results of a 180 W, high output voltage (1.8 KV) prototype are found to be in good agreement with the analysis, models, and simulation results presented. The basic characteristic of ZVS, the fact that the resonant current is passing through the switches only during a fraction of the period, the high-voltage transfer ratio, and the inherent input/output (I/O) isolation, make the proposed topology a viable design alternative in avionic and aerospace applications  相似文献

An efficient and practical method for steady-state design of an LLC-type parallel resonant dc/dc converter (LLC-PRC) is presented. In general, the output characteristic curves of LLC-PRC can be obtained by multiplying the output curves of the LC-type parallel resonant converter (LC-PRC) by a ratio of the parallel and series inductances. The peak voltage and current stresses on the resonant elements also depend on the same ratio. The LLC-PRC with a filter inductor is examined for two conduction modes, continuous and discontinuous capacitor voltage conduction modes, to show the effect of the inductance ratio. A means to use the derived equations to obtain the zero current switching (ZCS) is given. Also, a design procedure, along with design examples, is given to illustrate the use of the equations and characteristic curves. The expression of the flyback converter output voltage (output power) is derived as a function of the supply voltage, load resistance, transformer ratios, transistor current gain, and base-circuit resistor value. Switching period and duty cycle are also calculated. A converter circuit is designed having stabilized output voltage, with respect to supply voltage, at constant load. The transistor base current is controlled by the supply voltage, via a nonlinear circuit. This feedforward circuit approximates with logarithmic characteristics the ideal hyperbolic dependence of the transistor base current as a function of the supply voltage. The converter has high performance and low cost. A cheaper circuit variant is presented, in which the high-voltage control transistor was eliminated.  相似文献

A dynamically robust current control method to synthesize a sinusoidal input current for AC-to-DC converters with boost type topology is presented. Under this control strategy, the inductor current and the diode current of the boost converter are fed back and combined in a special way which makes the input current of the AC-to-DC converter stable and robust. The input current is solely determined by the reference current. When the reference current signal is derived from the sinusoidal input voltage, the input current is sinusoidal and in phase with the input voltage. Theoretical analysis is first provided. Small signal analysis shows that the current loop is inherently stable and has a fast dynamic response. Large signal analysis reveals that the control system is not affected by large disturbances in supply voltage or output load. Computer simulations have been carried out and experimental prototype models have been built to verify the analysis and demonstrate the feasibility of the control strategy. A power factor of 0.998 and a total harmonic distortion (THD) of 3.18% are measured.  相似文献

A novel ac/dc/ac converter topology with three-level pulsewidth modulated (PWM) scheme for the single-phase ac/dc rectifier and random PWM scheme for ac drives is proposed. In order to improve the power quality in the single-phase rectifier, a ROM-based (read-only memory) control scheme, based on hysteresis current comparator, region detector, and capacitor compensator, is used to achieve a sinusoidal line current with low current distortion. The control scheme of the adopted three-level rectifier is easy to implement. The blocking voltage of power switches is clamped to half of the dc bus voltage. To reduce the mechanical vibration from an induction motor, random pulse position PWM scheme is adopted to spread the harmonics in a wide frequency range which results in the reduction of torque pulsation in the ac motor drives. Simulation and experimental results based on the laboratory prototype circuit are presented to verify the proposed control scheme  相似文献

Three pulse-width modulation (PWM) control schemes for a single-phase power-factor-correction (PFC) AC/DC converter are presented to improve the power quality. A diode bridge with two power switches is employed as a PFC circuit to achieve a high power factor and low line current harmonic distortion. The control schemes are based on look-up tables with hysteresis current controller (HCC) to generate two-level or three-level PWM on the DC side of diode rectifier. Based on the proposed three control schemes, the line current is driven to follow the sinusoidal current command which is in phase with the supply voltage, and two capacitor voltages on the DC bus are controlled to be balanced. The simulation and experimental results of a 1 kW converter with load as well as line voltage variation and shown to verify the proposed control schemes. It is shown that unity PFC is achieved using a simple control circuit and the measured line current harmonics satisfy the IEC 1000-3-2 requirements  相似文献

Three control techniques for a high power factor multilevel pulsewidth modulation (PWM) rectifier are proposed. The proposed rectifier is based on series connection of full-bridge cell to achieve a high power factor, low current distortion, low voltage stress of power semiconductors and two balanced output voltages. The look-up table is used in the proposed control schemes to reduce the hardware circuit. A capacitor voltage compensator is used to balance two dc capacitor voltages in order to obtain high quality PWM voltage pattern. Based on the proposed control schemes, two-level or three-level PWM pattern can be generated on the ac side of the adopted rectifier. The proposed techniques for a high power factor multilevel rectifier illustrate its validity and effectiveness through the respective simulations and experiments. According to the measured results, the current harmonics drawn from the mains meet the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 1000-3-2 limits  相似文献

A new class of AC/DC converter topologies (Type-1 converters) is described, suitable for use in an advanced single-phase sine-wave voltage, high-frequency power distribution system, of the type that was proposed for a 20 kHz Space Station primary electrical power distribution system. The converter comprises a transformer, a resonant network, a current controller, a diode rectifier, and an output filter. The input AC voltage source is converted into a sinusoidal current source using the resonant network. The output of this current source is rectified by the diode rectifier and is controlled by the current controller. The controlled rectified current is then filtered by the output filter to obtain a constant voltage across the load. Three distinct converter topologies, Type-1A, Type-1B, and Type 1-C, are described, and their performance characteristics are presented. All three types have a close-to-unity rated power factor (greater than 0.98), low total harmonic distortion in input current (less than 5%), and high conversion efficiency (greater than 96%)  相似文献

Pulse Train/spl trade/ control scheme is presented and applied to a boost integrated flyback rectifier/energy storage dc-dc (BIFRED) converter operating in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM), which avoids the light-load high-voltage stress problem. In contrast to the conventional control techniques, the principal idea of Pulse Train technique is to regulate the output voltage using a series of high and low energy pulses generated by the current of the inductor. The applicability of the proposed technique to both the input and magnetizing inductances of BIFRED converter is investigated. Analysis of BIFRED converter operating in DCM as well as the output voltage ripple estimation is given. Experimental results on a prototype converter are also presented.  相似文献

The distributed power systems of future commercial aircraft will adopt variable frequency generation (360 to 800 Hz). Front-end converters in the system will be required to have a high efficiency and a low total harmonic distortion (THD) of the input current. This paper explains the design of a zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) active-clamped isolated low-harmonic SEPIC rectifier for such applications. Utilization of the transformer leakage inductance for ZVS and a single-layer transformer design contribute to a high efficiency. An accurate averaged switch model has been developed, which shows that the control-to-input-current transfer function of this converter does not exhibit resonances observed in the conventional SEPIC. As a result, for closed-loop operation using average current control, damping of the coupling capacitor is not required. Operating at a switching frequency of 200 kHz, an experimental 100 W, 28 V output rectifier achieves a THD of 3-4% and efficiency exceeding 90% over the entire line frequency range.  相似文献

This paper presents an analysis and experimental results for a frequency-controlled series-resonant dc-dc converter that consists of a Class-D zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) series-resonant inverter and a center-tapped synchronous rectifier. If the dc output voltage is low, the efficiency of the converter is dominated by the efficiency of the rectifier. Low on-resistance metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) are used in the rectifier instead of diodes because the forward voltage drop across the rectifying device is low, resulting in a high efficiency. The dc output voltage is regulated against variations in the load resistance and the dc input voltage by varying the operating frequency. Experimental results are presented for a converter with a dc input voltage of 150 V, an output voltage of 5 V, and a dc load resistance ranging from 0.5 to 5.5 R. The measured efficiency was 86% for a 50 W output and 89% for a 25 W output. The theoretical results were in good agreement with the measured results.  相似文献

It is difficult to obtain a large input/output voltage ratio with a DC-DC converter, because the duty factor d may not reach very small values. For the same reason, it is difficult to obtain an output voltage that is adjustable in a large range. A DC-DC converter circuit is proposed that overcomes this limitation by performing a voltage ratio d2/(1-d) in the best operating mode. Circuit operation is analyzed, operating modes are evidenced, and the voltage ratio is deduced in each operating mode as a function of output current, duty factor, and circuit component values. Boundary conditions between different operating modes are obtained; consequently, it is concluded that these conditions do not occur for some operating modes. Component ratings are summarized, to facilitate circuit design. The buck-flyback DC-DC converter is very suitable for low-voltage (e.g. computer) power supplies and for power supplies with the output voltage (adjustable in a large range) supplied from the mains without a mains voltage transformer  相似文献

For a given output voltage and power, the peak resonant capacitor voltage and peak inductor and switch currents of the series resonant converter depend strongly on the choice of transformer turns ratio and of tank inductance and capacitance. In this paper the particular component values which result in the smallest component stresses are determined, and a simple design strategy is developed. The procedure is illustrated for an off-line 200 W, 5 V application, and it is shown that an incorrect choice of component values can result in significantly higher component stresses than are necessary.  相似文献
