| Abstract: | The paper considers the importance of trace gases in modulating the fluxes of solar and terrestrial radiation in the Earth's atmosphere, and the influence of these effects on the long-term climate. Present and future capabilities for observing and monitoring trace gases from spacecraft are surveyed. |
