电离层人工加热实验中等离子体线的涨落

摘    要:为研究高频电磁波在电离层等离子体中激发的等离子体线的涨落,一组电离层加热实验完成于波多黎各的Arecibo射电天文台。激发的等离子体线的强度随时间的涨落与平均加热功率有关。当等离子体受到充分激发时,随平均加热功率增加,涨落的重复频率增加,涨落减弱且变得无规则。当峰值功率或脉冲长度改变时,涨落的改变表现为重复周期的汇合或分裂。离子线的涨落与等离子体线的涨落相关,但重复频率较高。对所观测的现象提出了一种解释。

FLUCTUATION OF PLASMA LINE IN THE IONOSPHERIC MODIFICATION EXPERIMENT AT ARECIBO

Abstract:A series of ionospheric modification experiments were conducted at the Arecibo Observatory to research the fluctuation of the plasma lines enhanced by the high frequency electromagnetic waves.The temporal fluctuation of the power of enhanced plasma line depends on the average heating power.When the plasma is excited efficiently,the fluctuation repetition frequency increases and the fluctuation becomes erratic and weak with the increase in the average heating power.When the peak power or the pulse length is changed,the fluctuation changes by merging or spliting of the repetition cycles.The fluctuation of ion lines is correlated with that of plasma lines,but has higher repetition frequency than plasma line.An explanation has been suggested for the observed phenomena.
