| Abstract: | In this paper, the author analyzed and described the functions of imitation and polite formula at the beginning of foreign language learning by using applied linguistics theory, in combination with his own observation. By applying polite formula and imitation, the learners study foreign language beyond their own abilities, are full of confidence and lay a solid foundation for the creative advanced step of language learning. |
