| Abstract: | How increasing the accuracy of vortex methods and decreasing their computational cost are discussed in the present paper.Attention is focused on the recent developments in vortex methods, such as deterministic vortex methods, domain decomposition methods, particle (with concentrated vorticity)-grid (considered as non-moving particlewith distributed vorticity)hybrid method etc. .Generally, critical comparisons between these methods are lacked, and their numerical examinations, particularly with boundary conditions matched with these methods, are required. Some studies and applications on vortex methods in China in recent years are presented. |
