| Abstract: | The structure and functions of a basic expert system are briefly introduced. Application and development of expert systems in material science at home and abroad in recent years are reviewed systematically including material design and optimization, intelligent processing and controlling of materials, fault detection and quality control. Future development is discussed as well. |
