Contrast research on Yeats and Joyce

The article explores the difference between Yeats and James Joyce in belief, writing skills, historical ideas, the Nationalist Movement and philosophical ideas. Yeats and Joyce have no belief in Christianity. But they have the same historical ideas:gyre or recirculation of the history. Joyce made full use of symbolism.Besides, Joyce took characters, plot and some places in Odyssey by Homer as the title of each episode in Ulysses and revealed deep philosophical idea. Yeats took part in the National Movement for the Irish liberation and became the leader of Irish literature, while Joyce was exiled abroad to pursue literature. Two writers both draw their own conclusions about life which are good suggestion for readers.
