| Abstract: | Deixis involves the relationship between the structure of languages and the contexts in which they are used.It can be classified into five types,of which the spatial deixis can extend to other domains,which is the object of this study.The paper investigates the phenomenon of the extensions of spatial deixis,and discusses the reasons for it： both from semantic and cognitive perspectives.The result shows that the identification of the extensions is of great significance to the language study,translation and people＇s communication.It also proposes that the study of deixis should be undertaken in the condition of contextualization. |
