Theoretical Analysis and Experimental Verification of Fly Forward Converter with LCD Magnetic Resetting

Presents the complete analysis of an integrated fly forward converter. The operational principles of the converter with LCD snubber circuit are described in detail. The equivalent circuits and differential equations in each state are given. 50 W100 kHz breadboard prototype is established. Experimental waveforms are provided, and they verify the theoretical analysis. It is shown that the two transformers transfer energy to load in turn. The LCD snubber circuit makes power device soft switching possible and feeds surplus energy back to source, reducing the switching losses and having higher efficiency.
