Abstract:The relations between disturbing torque (DT) and some parameteis of electrostatic suspension system (ESS) have been analyzed. Several methods have been proposed for reducing the drift of ESG. The experiment results have shown that the constant drift of ESG has been reduced even to zero by optimal trimming the ESS.Since significant DT is caused by the displacement of the rotor under the actoin of acceleration, it is necessary to increase the stiffness of ESS. In the ESS, Robust regulator for this purpose has been presented and applied. In the case of practical application the stiffness of ESS can be increased to infinity. Therefore, all DT caused by displacement of rotor under the action of acceleration will be eliminated.
