Abstract:Under the optium condition of superplastic deformation (T = 500++++++++++++++, ++++++++++++++++++i=3.33 + 10-3S-1) in Al-1.91 Li-1.25 Cu-0.46Mg-0.21Zr alloy, three kinds of recrystalliza-tion nucleation occurred: 1) nucleation by bulge of subgrain boundary, 2) nucleation by widening of subgrain boundary, 3) nucleation by bulge of high angle boundery. It is indicated that all these kinds of recrystallization nucleation release the stress concentration at triple junction led by grain boundary sliding. In addition,the first and the second of nucleation refine grains, but the last one causes grain growth. The recrystallization nucleation by bulge of high angle boundary is promoted by a large mount of particle present in the vicinity of grain boundary.
