Abstract:A one-dimensional simulation model of a piston aero-engine was established with AVL BOOST according to the structure of the prototype engine. And the simulation model was validated by the ground performance experiment and simulation computation. A mathematical model was set up to calculate the minimum ignition energy based on thorough analysis of combustion mechanism of the engine combustible mixture. Then the minimum ignition energy at high altitude with different air-fuel ratios under stable operation condition was calculated by using AVL BOOST and MATLAB, and the minimum ignition energy MAP was provided. Experiment was conducted to validate the calculation results. The results show that the model of calculating the minimum ignition energy is correct and feasible, and also can meet the requirements of further research and performance prediction.
