| Abstract: | A formula of two dimensional two sided tolerance limit factors is established.Then a new method for estimating the two sided tolerance interval,which will include at least a stated percentage of the normal population with a stated probability,is presented by means of the formula,which can make full use of previous data and experience.In result,the prediction precision is enhanced or the number of specimens in the present experiment is reduced.The method is not only applicable to complete data but also to imcomplete data.It can be seen from the examples that this method gives higher precision of prediction and is more simple for application in engineering than the Bayes method. |
