Abstract:The development of advanced magnesium alloys and their forming technologies in National Engineering Research Center of Light Alloy Net Forming in Shanghai Jiaotong University are discussed in this paper,including the microstructure and strengthening mechanism of two new magnesium alloys – JDM1 and JDM2,and four new magnesium alloy forming technologies: coating transfer precision casting,low-pressure casting for large-size parts,forging technology for large-sized parts,and surface ultrasonic anodic oxidation.The applications of JDM1 and JDM2 and the new forming technologies in aerospace are also presented.
