| Abstract: | The instantaneous velocity and the temperature of the air charge in the cylindrical swirl chamber of a motored IDI diesel engine are measured by hot wire anemometers. The digital data collecting and processing of the experimental results is performed on a computer by statistical methods. The spatial distributions and the temporal variations of the tangential velocity component and temperature of the air charge in the swirl chamber are investigated. |
