| Abstract: | In this paper, the vertical equilibrium equation of a current filament has been deduced with the assumption that the whole filament is of an elliptical shape. Then as an example, the relation between the current filament in the active region NOAA 131 and its balance altitude is investigated according to the equation. The characteristics of the equilibrium current are also discussed in this paper. |
