| Abstract: | The response of an FM detector to an FM signal which is passed through a hard limiting repeater together with additive Gaussian noise is described. A general expression of the output SNR is derived that enables the determination of the threshold behavior. To clarify the feature of a transmission characteristic, a comparison with a linear repeater is also made. The output SNR is found to be larger than that of the linear system for all practical values of input CNR's. |
