Measurement Image Enhancement Based on Reverse Histogram Equalization

Overlay between target gray levels and background gray levels and loss of target information are encountered in measurement image enhancement with traditional histogram equalization because of narrow dynamic range,low contrast and insufficient pixels of the target.A reverse histogram equalization method is proposed in this paper to solve this problem.The gray levels of the majority pixels are combined and the gray level gaps of the minority pixels are enlarged to mitigate loss of target details of the traditional method.Test results show that the proposed method effectively restrains the background of the image while enhancing the details of the target.
