| Abstract: | The concept to estimate space averages of the reflected solar exitance at the top of the atmosphere (TOA) from narrow field of view satellite instruments is presented. The largest errors, of about 2–25 %, in the estimated exitance are induced by the bidirectional function to convert radiances to exitances. |
