The status quo and developing trends of flight mechanics in Russia

Traditional definitions,classifications of flight mechanics in Russia are introduced.Considering airplane dynamics,flight mechanics of unmanned aerial vehicle,experimental flight mechanics,computational flight mechanics etc.,the history of flight mechanics in Russia is reviewed,distinguished figures in history and famous researching institutes are represented.The Characteristic features of Russian research work in the field are outlined,such as the importance of flight mechanics in the process of flying vehicle design,penetrating,systematizing and engineering-oriented theoretical research work,analytical approaches to many problems,self-contained experimental institutions and equipment,computational research,comprehensive national standards and fundamental database,effective talent training systems,etc.Based on the open publications,a number of focal directions in current research work are analyzed.
