The Research on Parametric Estimation of Equipment Development Cost

Parametric method is a effect means for equipment development cost estimation. This paper introduces the history and basic principle of parametric cost estimation, then analyzes the main driving factors of equipment development cost which are as the estimation parameters. This paper also develops the basic process of parametric estimation for equipment development cost. At last, a case study for new helicopter is conducted based on True Planning, an excellent parametric estimation soft, and the result shows the effectiveness of parametric estimation.
