摘    要:感兴趣区域的ROI(Region of Interest)编码是正在制订的静止图像压缩国际新标准JPEG2000支持的一种创新方法,在渐进重构的初始阶段,ROI的保真度高于图像其余部分(背景),该方法可观地节省了传输时间和存储空间。由于SPIHT是嵌入式编码,所以在按一定比例放大ROI系数(或者按一定比例缩小背景系数)后,ROI便可以比背景更快更清晰的重构出来。

Abstract:Region of Interest (ROI)coding is one of the innovativ e functionalities supported by JPEG2000, ROI coding is incorporated functionality into SPIHT coding with integer wavelet transform. By placing a higher emphasis o n the transform coefficients pertaining to ROI, ROI is coded with higher fidelit y than the rest of the image (BG) in earlier stages of progressive reconstructio n, thus the "important" part of the image is reconstructed more quickly than BG. This method significantly saves transmission time and storage space by terminat ing encoding or transmission in situations where ROI needs to be coded losslessl y and BG visually losslessly (lossy).
