Cellular parameters for track structure modeling of radiation hazard in space.

Based on irradiation with 45 MeV/u N and B ions and with Co-60 gamma rays, cellular parameters of Katz's track structure model have been fitted for the survival of V79-379A Chinese hamster lung fibroblasts. Cellular parameters representing neoplastic transformations in C3H10T/1/2 cells after their irradiation with heavy ion beams, taken from earlier work, were also used to model the radiation hazard in deep space, following the system for evaluating, summing and reporting occupational exposures proposed in 1967 by a subcommittee of NCRP. We have performed model calculations of the number of transformations in surviving cells, after a given fluence of heavy charged particles of initial energy 500 MeV/u, penetrating thick layers of cells. We take the product of cell transformation and survival probabilities, calculated along the path lengths of charged particles using cellular survival and transformation parameters, to represent a quantity proportional to the "radiation risk factor" discussed in the NCRP document. The "synergistic" effect of simultaneous charged particle transfers is accounted for by the "track overlap" mode inherent in the model of Katz.     

Raindrop Shape Limitations on Clutter Cancellation Ratio Using Circular Polarization

Cancellation ratio limitations from raindrop properties in a perfectly circularly polarized radar system were found using a new raindrop size distribution which has an improved fit to the existing empirical data. Winds and multiple reflections between raindrops were not considered.     

The Network Vehicle-a glimpse into the future of mobile multi-media

The Network Vehicle is the Delphi Automotive Systems' vision for the future convergence of computers, the communications infrastructure, and the automobile. It features many advanced functions such as: satellite video, Internet access, virtual navigation, remote vehicle diagnostics and control, games, mobile office, automotive web site, and customized real-time stock quotes and sports scores. These features are enabled by an integrated planar antenna that is capable of multiple satellite reception, a client-server network architecture, and unique human-vehicle-interfaces such as color reconfigurable head-up and head-down displays, steering wheel controls, voice recognition, text-to-speech, and large touch screen active matrix liquid crystal displays (LCDs). The software applications are written in Java, using Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to reduce the complexity and cost of the source code     

A Simple Approximate Formula for Glint Improvement with Frequency Agility

Referring to a previous paper on the subject, this correspondance gives a simple approximate formula for improvement in tracking accuracy that can be obtained by using frequency agility to reduce glint errors. The result turns out to be the smallest of two easily calculated ratios.     

基于偏振光的导航定姿自适应滤波算法

针对小型无人机三维空间内姿态解算问题,基于惯性测量单元与偏振光传感器组成的航姿参考系统,提出了一种自适应滤波姿态估计算法。在常规互补滤波算法基础上,为解决实际飞行过程中存在的运动加速度干扰以及天空中水汽分布异常等问题,建立了相应的自适应调节框架结构。实验结果表明:提出的算法能有效抑制外界干扰因素对姿态解算精度的影响,提高了偏振光组合导航系统的稳定性与可靠性,增强了系统对外界复杂因素的抗干扰能力。     

Frequency Agility Radar Range Calculation Using Number of Independent Pulses

A method for accurately calculating the radar range improvement introduced by frequency agility is presented. This calculation is made by using the concept of independent pulses. The number of independent target or clutter pulses is calculated by a simple method based on such basic combinatorial probability theory as drawing differently colored balls from an urn.     

A Sensate Liner for personnel monitoring applications

This program develops and demonstrates technologies useful for implementing a manageable cost effective systems approach to monitoring the medical condition of personnel by way of an instrumented uniform hereafter referred to as a Sensate Liner (SL). The SL consists of a form fitting garment which contains and interconnects sensing elements and devices to an electronics pack containing a processor and transmitter. The SL prototype requires fiber, textile, garment and sensor development. The SL textile consists of a mesh of electrically and optically conductive fibers integrated into the normal structure (woven or knitted) of fibers and yarns selected for comfort and durability. A suite of SL garment compatible embedded biological and physical sensors are then integrated into the SL. The initial SL sensor suite is selected to improve triage for combat casualties. Additional SL sensor concepts for medical monitoring will be discussed.     

激光选区熔化成形SiCP/AlSi10Mg复合材料工艺及性能研究

为研究激光选区熔化(SLM)成形技术制备SiC颗粒增强AlSi10Mg复合材料的成形机理,开展了SLM成形工艺参数(扫描间距、扫描速度)对致密度、机械性能等影响情况的研究。结果表明:所制备试样中SiC增强颗粒分布均匀,并与基体具有连续相容的冶金结合界面。当激光扫描速度从900 mm/s升高到2 100 mm/s时,在不同的扫描间距下,复合材料试样致密度均随之降低；当扫描间距在0.09～0.12 mm内变化时,在不同的扫描速度下,致密度变化趋势并不一致；在激光功率490 W、铺粉层厚0.04 mm、扫描间距0.12 mm、扫描速度900 mm/s时,制备的SiC颗粒增强AlSi10Mg复合材料试样得到最佳综合性能(相对密度99.1%,显微硬度198.7 HV0.2,抗拉强度341.9 MPa)；在该最佳工艺参数下,成功制备出复杂结构的薄壁零件。研究为SLM成形SiCP/AlSi10Mg复合材料在航空航天和空间领域的应用提供了理论基础和实验依据。     

Reduction of Radar Tracking Errors with Frequency Agility

Frequency agility with random frequency in each pulse gives an improvement in radar angle tracking with a monopulse radar. With a conical-scan tracking radar, the glint error is reduced but fading error can be increased, and the net result must be studied in each case. A theory, usable for calculating angle tracking errors with a frequency agile radar, is given, and two examples showing the error reduction are presented. According to the theory, one part of the glint or fading spectra is ``smeared out' to half the pulse repetition frequency. Another part, the size of which depends on the degree of correlation between pulses, keeps the form of the original spectrum.
