The performance of a uniformly spaced phased-steered line array with element channel superlimiting is studied for far-field sources consisting of 1) two sinusoidal signals with different frequencies and angular locations, and 2) a sinusoid and a noise signal at different angular locations. Attention is focused on the nonlinear case where internal noise is negligible compared to both input signals. The analysis for the two-sinusoid case gives the precise frequencies, positions, and amplitudes of all apparent sources. In addition to the two active sources, the array output has an array of images arranged symmetrically in sine space about the larger input, at intervals equal to the spacing between the two active sources. For the case of a separated sinusoid and a noise source, the analysis shows that the angular positions and average powers of the array outputs duplicate the double-sinusoid results, but the images have noise-like spectra. The analyses are confirmed by experimental results obtained with a 60-element superlimiting X-band array.  相似文献

In conventional beamformers of a large towed hydrophone array of fixed linear array geometry the sensors may be displaced from their nominal positions due to various kinds of force on the array. The displacements are usually time varying and can severely degrade the performance of the beamformer. This problem is approached by restoring the sensor output signals before beamforming by adaptively tracking and compensating for the displacements. This approach does not require modifications of the conventional shipboard beamformer and hence can be used cost-effectively to upgrade existing conventional systems. Two adaptive algorithms are used for two different cases: known sensor moving trajectories and unknown trajectories with relatively small displacements compared with the intersensor spacing. Tracking performance of the algorithms is analyzed. Simulation results show that for known sensor trajectories the algorithm significantly improves the performance of the conventional shipboard beamformer whereas only limited improvement can be achieved when the trajectories are unknown  相似文献

The effect of gain-phase perturbations and mutual coupling significantly degrades the performance of digital array radar (DAR). This paper investigates array calibration problems in the scenario where the true locations of auxiliary sources deviate from nominal values but the angle intervals are known. A practical algorithm is proposed to jointly calibrate gain-phase errors and mutual coupling errors. Firstly, a simplified model of the distortion matrix is developed based on its special structure in uniform linear array (ULA). Then the model is employed to derive the precise locations of the auxiliary sources by one-dimension search. Finally, the least-squares estimation of the distortion matrix is obtained. The algorithm has the potential of achieving considerable improvement in calibration accuracy due to the reduction of unknown parameters. In addition, the algorithm is feasible for practical applications, since it requires only one auxiliary source with the help of rotation platforms. Simulation results demonstrate the validity, robustness and high per-formance of the proposed algorithm. Experiments were carried out using an S-band DAR test-bed. The results of measured data show that the proposed algorithm is practical and effective in appli-cation.  相似文献

Target Detection and Parameter Estimation for MIMO Radar Systems   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
We investigate several target detection and parameter estimation techniques for a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar system. By transmitting independent waveforms via different antennas, the echoes due to targets at different locations are linearly independent of each other, which allows the direct application of many data-dependent beamforming techniques to achieve high resolution and excellent interference rejection capability. In the absence of array steering vector errors, we discuss the application of several existing data-dependent beamforming algorithms including Capon, APES (amplitude and phase estimation) and CAPES (combined Capon and APES), and then propose an alternative estimation procedure, referred to as the combined Capon and approximate maximum likelihood (CAML) method. Via several numerical examples, we show that the proposed CAML method can provide excellent estimation accuracy of both target locations and target amplitudes. In the presence of array steering vector errors, we apply the robust Capon beamformer (RCB) and doubly constrained robust Capon beamformer (DCRCB) approaches to the MIMO radar system to achieve accurate parameter estimation and superior interference and jamming suppression performance.  相似文献

An improved version of a multiple-target-angle tracking algorithm using sensor array outputs is presented. While retaining all the good features of the original algorithm, the improved version greatly reduces the error propagation due to the use of recursive approximations in updating target angle estimates. The assumption of a constant signal covariance matrix is no longer necessary. The improved performance of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by computer simulations dealing with the tracking of two moving targets  相似文献

基于极化敏感阵列,提出了一种鲁棒成形阵列波束的方法。该方法首先将阵列的数据模型进行了重新描述,从而获得了信号波达角(DOA)和极化解耦的模型。借助于该模型并对信号的两个极化方向分别进行鲁棒约束,设计出了一个新的鲁棒空域波束空间成形矩阵,利用该矩阵可以获得信号两个极化分量的鲁棒估计。基于特征值分解的方法,最后给出了估计信号极化参数的方法。分析和数值仿真实验均表明:提出的方法,在对DOA估计误差以及阵列位置误差等造成的阵列失配具有较强鲁棒性的同时,也能有效抑制干扰和噪声,进而提升了极化参数估计的性能。  相似文献

A first-order analysis is performed of the sensitivity of the maximum likelihood (ML) direction-finding algorithm to system errors which cause differences between the array manifold used by the algorithm and the true array manifold. The effect of such errors on the directions-of-arrival (DOA) estimates is investigated. The ability of the ML algorithm to resolve two closely spaced sources in the presence of phase and gain errors in the array elements or in the receivers, or errors in the element locations, is analyzed. A formula for computing the failure threshold of the algorithm as a function of source separation and other system parameters is derived and tested by simulation. The passive localisation of radiating sources using an array subject to random perturbations in sensor phases is presented. All source signals as well as additive noises observed at the sensors are assumed to be independent identically distributed zero-mean Gaussian random processes. Cramer-Rao bounds are derived for source bearings and ranges for the phase errors at each sensor. It is shown that accurate phase calibration can be achieved when the number of sources exceeds a certain minimum. The locations of the calibrating sources need not be known a priori and need only satisfy mild regularity conditions. This paper presents a framework for incorporating knowledge sources directly in the space-time beamformer of airborne adaptive radars. The algorithm derivation follows the usual linearly-constrained minimum-variance (LCMV) space-time beamformer with additional constraints based on a model of the clutter covariance matrix that is computed using available knowledge about the operating environment. This technique has the desirable property of reducing sample support requirements by "blending" the information contained in the observed radar data and the a priori knowledge sources. Applications of the technique to both full degree of freedom (DoF) and reduced DoF beamformer algorithms are considered. The performance of the knowledge-aided beam forming techniques are demonstrated using high-fidelity simulated X-band radar data  相似文献

An approach to high-resolution multiple-target-angle tracking that uses the output of an array of sensors is presented. The results of direction-of-arrival estimation by eigenstructure analysis are extended to derive a recursive procedure for tracking moving sources. This procedure involves recursive eigenvalue decomposition and a zero-tracking algorithm, using the coefficient derived from the minimum-norm criterion. The algorithm has superresolution capability in that a pair of closely spaced target angles can be resolved and tracked even though the angular separation between them is less than the reciprocal of the aperture size. The spatial structure of the likelihood ratio array processor for detecting a monochromatic plane wave signal in Gaussian noise is compared with a conventional beam-forming detector. Conditions are determined under which the optimum detector performs significantly better than the conventional detector. A new concept in synthetic aperture radar, called SASAR, which uses a segmented aperture, is described. Use of the segmented aperture allows appreciable extra receiving antenna gain to be realized. Each subarray of the receive antenna is equal in length to the transmit antenna; the system performance is increased approximately by a factor equal to the number of subarrays. To allow array combination of the subarray signal outputs requires a phase-shift factor (varying with azimuth) to be applied to each subarray signal. A digital implementation of this preprocessor is sketched out; it uses a push-down storage stack to store the range histories for a synthetic aperture from each subarray. Appropriate phase shifts are added to the stacks and a sum of stack values then provides the combined output range history sequence. Possibilities of using analog delay lines for preprocessing are also discussed. Pattern errors due to subarray size and receive array near field are examined and constraints are given.  相似文献

Photovoltaic (PV) generators exhibit nonlinear v-i characteristics and maximum power (MP) points that vary with solar insulation. An intermediate converter can therefore increase efficiency by matching the PV system to the load and by operating the solar cell arrays (SCAs) at their maximum power point. An MP point tracking algorithm is developed using only SCA voltage information thus leading to current sensorless tracking control. The inadequacy of a boost converter for array voltage based MP point control is experimentally verified and an improved converter system is proposed. The proposed converter system results in low ripple content, which improves the array performance and hence a lower value of capacitance is sufficient on the solar array side. Simplified mathematical expressions for a PV source are derived. A signal flow graph is employed for modeling the converter system. Current sensorless peak power tracking effectiveness is demonstrated through simulation results. Experimental results are presented to validate the proposed method  相似文献

短距起飞/垂直降落(STOVL)飞机发动机已采用多变量控制方法。基于鲁棒稳定性和条件数分析、块相对增益矩阵分析,对STOVL飞机发动机不同工作模式下的三变量控制系统输出选择和控制结构设计进行了研究。对常规工作模式,提出了基于多目标优化的三变量分块解耦控制方法,通过定义最优指标实现动态跟踪和分块间的耦合抑制。对常规工作模式和垂直起降工作模式间的切换,提出基于升力风扇功率前馈的复合控制方法,以消除负载变化对系统性能的影响。仿真结果表明:提出的控制方法能够保证常规工作模式下良好的解耦控制效果,能够实现不同工作模式间的平稳过渡,验证了控制方法的可行性。   相似文献

以高性能数字信号处理器TMS320C6203为核心,结合CPLD(可编程逻辑器件)进行逻辑控制,用FPGA(现场可编程门阵列)进行预处理,设计了实时目标检测和跟踪系统。介绍了实时图像处理系统的硬件组成、工作原理、软件流程,重点分析目标检测算法和系统实时性。该系统被成功用于光电经纬仪红外图像处理系统中,经试验证明,系统对弱小目标的检测、识别和跟踪能力达到实际工程的实时性需求,大大提高了数据采集能力与处理速度,采样精度得到很大提高,完全满足系统设计要求。  相似文献

Classical adaptive array schemes which use only complex spatial weights are inherently narrowband and consequently perform poorly when attempting to suppress wideband interference. The common solution to this problem is the use of tapped delay line filters in each spatial channel to facilitate space-time adaptive processing (STAP). The higher performance provided by the STAP architecture comes at the cost of a considerable increase in complexity. This paper presents a simpler technique based on programmable time adjustable sampling (TAS) that provides a limited number of wideband degrees of freedom. Two TAS methods are introduced: TAS-sidelobe canceler (TAS-SLC) is based on the sidelobe canceler, while TAS-minimum variance beamformer (TAS-MVB) is derived from the minimum variance beamformer. TAS is implemented by adjusting the sampling instant at selected array channels. TAS-SLC consists of controlling the sampling in the main channel of the sidelobe canceler With TAS-MVB array complex weights are substituted with TAS time delays. The performance of TAS methods with wideband interference is compared to the conventional sidelobe canceler and minimum variance beamformers. It is shown that TAS-SLC provides better performance than the sidelobe canceler, while TAS-MVB outperforms the minimum variance beamformer  相似文献

研究了一类可以抑制切换时刻输出跳跃的多模型切换控制器的设计问题。基于参数化特征结构配置结果及模型跟踪方法,设计了满足输出跟踪性能并使多模型系统中各闭环子系统渐近稳定的多模型切换控制律集合。充分利用参数化特征结构配置方法提供的全部自由度,协调选取各子系统控制律中的参数来抑制切换时刻的输出跳跃。将本文提出的方法应用到某型倾斜转弯导弹自动驾驶仪设计中,仿真结果表明导弹的输出过载迅速准确跟踪制导指令,并且切换抖动得到有效抑制。  相似文献

Background noise is inevitable when sensor arrays are used for aeroacoustic measurements in wind tunnels. The direct removal of background noise, however, would affect the measurement accuracy. In particular, the existing array signal processing algorithms are either invalid or inefficient for removing the noise that is coherent with the signal of interest. In this paper, an intelligent algorithm is developed to localize the coherent sound sources and background noise in real time by iteratively checking the collected data from the array. The proposed method can automatically adjust the suboptimal fading factor to extract useful information as much as possible in residual sequence. This algorithm is tested in simulations and then demonstrated in an experiment.Compared to the two existing methods, the results indicate that the new method has a good phase-shift tracking ability and rapid estimation-error convergence speed, and can achieve an acceptable performance even for low-cost acoustic sensors. Overall, the proposed method should assist array beamforming and hence benefit aeroacoustic measurement.  相似文献

A study has been made of the maximum theoretical accuracy in the angular location of a radiating object that is achievable by using a planar or linear array. The elements are assumed to have identical radiation patterns and the complex voltages observed at their ports are assumed to be subject to phase measurement errors, having normal probability density. An optimum scheme for the statistical extraction of the parameters defining the direction is established. It consists of combining the observed phases linearly with weights depending upon the element locations. It is shown that the presence of thermal noise, for sufficiently high signal-to-noise ratio, does not change the structure of the estimator. Comparison with conventional multiple interferometric techniques indicates the superiority of the proposed scheme. Finally, a limited numerical study on a small linear array vertically located on a reflecting terrain is performed. Although in such a situation the scheme proposed is not the theoretical optimum, it leads to errors that, for most directions of the target, are smaller than those found for the same array when using conventional multiple interferometer techniques.  相似文献
