Over the past three years, the Lockheed Martin GPS III team has analyzed potential operational concepts for the Air Force. The completed tasks support the government's objective of a "realizable and operationally feasible" US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) and Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) concept of operations. This paper provides an overview of the operational improvements for the command and control of satellites, the provision of safe, precise navigation and timing services to end-users. The GPS III system changes existing operational paradigms. Improved operator capabilities are enabled by a new high-speed uplink/downlink and crosslink communication architecture. Continuous connectivity allows operators a "contact one satellite - contact all satellites" concept enabling near-real-time navigation updates and telemetry monitoring. This paper describes potential improvements for the following operations: constellation monitoring, command and control, navigation upload monitoring, global service monitoring, global service prediction, civilian navigation (CNAV) messaging, and anomaly detection and resolution. This paper also describes future operational improvements as GPS applications continue to proliferate and the need for an improved infrastructure to effectively manage all the systems that affect GPS service grows 相似文献

Resilience is the ability of a system to withstand and stay operational in the face of an unexpected disturbance or unpredicted changes. Recent studies on air transport system resilience focus on topology characteristics after the disturbance and measure the robustness of the network with respect to connectivity. The dynamic processes occurring at the node and link levels are often ignored. Here we analyze airport network resilience by considering both structural and dynamical aspects. We develop a simulation model to study the operational performance of the air transport system when airports operate at degraded capacity rather than completely shutting down. Our analyses show that the system deteriorates soon after disruptive events occur but returns to an acceptable level after a period of time. Static resilience of the airport network is captured by a phase transition in which a small change to airport capacity will result in a sharp change in system punctuality. After the phase transition point, decreasing airport capacity has little impact on system performance. Critical airports which have significant influence on the performance of whole system are identified, and we find that some of these cannot be detected based on the analysis of network structural indicators alone. The fast-growing demand of computational fluid dynamics(CFD) application for computing resources stimulates the development of high performance computing(HPC) and meanwhile raises new requirements for the technology of parallel application performance monitor and analysis.In response to large-scale and long-time running for the application of CFD,online and scalable performance analysis technology is required to optimize the parallel programs as well as to improve their operational efficiency.As a result,this research implements a scalable infrastructure for online performance analysis on CFD application with homogeneous or heterogeneous system.The infrastructure is part of the parallel application performance monitor and analysis system(PAPMAS) and is composed of two modules which are scalable data transmission module and data storage module.The paper analyzes and elaborates this infrastructure in detail with respect to its design and implementation.Furthermore,some experiments are carried out to verify the rationality and high efficiency of this infrastructure that could be adopted to meet the practical needs. 相似文献

网络通信是分布环境下飞行仿真系统需要解决的关键技术,包括网络传输量和时钟同步等。网络传输量方面,采用DR模型降低了网络数据更新频率,减少了数据通信量,并采用数据封包、解包的方法降低了网络频繁调用带来的时间损耗;时钟同步方面,采用了硬件同步电路和软件高性能时钟相结合的时钟同步方案,确保了飞行仿真系统时间推进的严格同步。在此基础上,构建了基于适配器模式的、支持多协议的通信引擎网络中间件,将顶层应用和底层通信进行有效隔离,降低了应用层开发量,加快了系统集成效率,在多型飞机模拟器中得到了应用。 相似文献

在未来的通信网络中,复杂的信道环境是制约定位性能的主要因素之一。智能反射面是近年提出的一种具有特殊电磁特性的人工二维表面,可以控制电磁波的吸收、反射与折射特性,从而实现对信道的调控,具有广阔的应用前景。首先介绍了该技术的发展现状,从智能反射面的电磁特性及其在通信定位中的应用等方面归纳分析了其现阶段的研究成果,然后针对非视距应用提出了一种基于智能反射面的定位方法。通过仿真验证了该方法的有效性,在不同的发射功率下均实现了定位误差降低50%以上,并且提高了定位鲁棒性,实现了对波束盲区的覆盖。最后,从新型定位场景、通信技术结合、资源分配和人工智能应用4个角度,对智能反射面定位技术的研究进行了展望。 相似文献

目前对Vegas拥塞避免机制在SCPS—TP协议上的应用已经有了一定的研究;由于在航天测控网中存在着网络拓扑结构改变现象,这会严重影响Vegas机制的性能。本文提出一种基于BP神经网络的Vegas改进算法,设法减小航天测控网网络拓扑结构改变对Vegas机制性能的影响。仿真实验表明,该算法明显提高了SCPS—TP协议在航天测控网中的数据传输性能。 相似文献

Switched Ethernet is being implemented as an avionics communication architecture. A commercial standard (ARINC-664) and an aircraft vendor-specific implementation known as avionics full duplex switched Ethernet (AFDX) have been developed that defines the topology and use of switched Ethernet in an avionics application. In avionics applications, the movement of data between devices must take place in a deterministic fashion and must be delivered reliably. All aircraft flight hardware must be tested to be sure that it will communicate information properly in the switched Ethernet network. The airframe manufacture must test the integrated network to verify that all flight hardware is communicating properly. Testing and maintenance testing is required to perform data communication level testing of switched Ethernet architectures for avionics applications to insure that all communication is deterministic and reliable. This paper provides an overview of a switched Ethernet avionics network and identifies the testing challenges associated with a switched Ethernet avionics application. This paper presents the design concept for Broadband Integrated Digital Avionics Information Exchange Networks (B-IDAIENs) for future aircraft applications. The use of B-IDAIENs can improve communication efficiency, flexibility, and capacity compared with using present avionics data buses. To implement B-IDAIENs the supporting techniques, such as wavelength-division multiplexing/wavelength-division multiple access and optical Benes network, are considered. Related optical components are also discussed. A variety of new communication functions will become available near the end of the decade when mobile satellite services (MSS) are introduced commercially in the United States and Canada. Mobile radios, hand carried radios and small fixed transponders will communicate directly through satellites into the telephone network or to private base stations. Voice, data, and position fixing services will be distance insensitive with good performance in difficult terrain and remote locations. Experiments with NASA satellites and studies in the U.S. and Canada demonstrated the technical feasibility and practical applications of mobile satellites. In 1983 Mobile Satellite Corporation, followed by Skylink Corporation, applied to the FCC for authorization to build and operate a land and aeronautical mobile satellite system for the United States. Canada had advanced its plans for an MSAT system. In response to these initiatives, the FCC issued a ``Notice of Proposed Rulemaking' that proposed the allocation of radio spectrum for the new service and asked for applications from prospective providers. Twelve applications were received. The shortage of radio spectrum in the U.S. has resulted in much contention over the proposed allocations, and the numerous applications have introduced competing systems concepts.
