An air traffic management system (ATMS) is a network-centric system being used to manage another network-centric system, namely, an air transportation system. We are developing a design language for network-centric systems and design guidelines for the development system of engineers and domain specialists involved in designing and integrating systems. Note: this development system with today's technology is also a network-centric system. An outline of the design language under construction and the design guidelines being studied is provided. Specifically we discuss ATMS mission objectives (e.g., average yearly throughput of people and freight for a high demand scenario); ATMS sample usage scenarios (e.g., ATMS reroutes air traffic in time and space in reaction to major weather deviation along the northeast coast); and system objectives for an ATMS (e.g., timelines of a specific high volume of messages from aircraft, weather sensors, and airports). We lay out some key design decisions associated with both the development system of engineers and domain specialists and the operational ATMS. Examples of key design decisions for the engineering system are: 1) appropriate partitioning of functional/physical architectures of the engineering system; 2) appropriate degree to telecollaboration and collaboration among design/integration groups; 3) appropriate incremental delivery packages for an incremental delivery schedule of ATMS elements; and 4) appropriate levels and thrusts of the risk management program. Examples of key design decisions for the operational ATMS are: 1) throughput and security trades of the ATMS and 2) throughput and resiliency to weather changes. Finally, we relate network-centric architecture issues to both of the above sets of design decisions.  相似文献

This paper discusses the treatment of correlated measurements in the least squares context. We focus on the processing of band-limited measurements and on long time series with a constant sampling interval. Time domain as well as frequency domain approaches were discussed to offer different ways to integrate the filtering process into the optimization scheme as good as possible. The focus was on long equispaced data sets. The application of discrete filters in the space domain makes it possible to decorrelate the observations during data acquisition. This opens the way to a sequential adjustment procedure, where the design matrix is treated row-by-row. Huge systems with millions of observations can be solved by direct or iterative strategies, and both approaches benefit from well-tailored filter techniques. Because of the sequential access the computational effort of this giant task can be easily distributed to a cluster of parallel processors and offers, in addition, the possibility to treat data gaps in a straightforward way. Junior Engineering Technical Society - JETS - was launched in 1950 after several years of research and preparation, it was designed to provide for the engineering profession what the 4-H clubs provided for agriculture. Initially known as BETS - Better Engineering Talent for Schools - it did not take long to evolve into JETS, the name that has been used to serve the pre-college engineering community for over fifty years. JETS has, however, respected its heritage through its motto: better talent for engineering. JETS is the only academic program at the high school level (Grades 9-12) that focuses completely on developing "real-life" engineering teamwork and necessary engineering problem-solving skills. 通过试验研究了复合材料机身框承受轴向压缩载荷下的失效模式,并与工程理论计算、有限元分析进行对比。试验研究的框构型包含"C"型框和"Z"型框,试验结果显示,复合材料机身框与蒙皮结构在承受沿框方向的轴向压缩载荷时,首先蒙皮发生局部屈曲;随着载荷的增大,框腹板和内缘也发生局部屈曲,最终导致整个框截面的破坏。对蒙皮局部屈曲采用两加载边简支、两侧边固支的层压平板屈曲工程分析方法,分析结果表明,工程理论计算与试验数据吻合良好,并且理论值具有保守性。对于框腹板及框内缘这类薄壁结构,其边界支持作用弱于简支,导致工程理论计算结果不保守。为了获得框腹板与框内缘更准确的局部屈曲结果,必须采用几何非线性有限元建模分析。  相似文献

The Intelligent Synthesis Environment (ISE) being developed by NASA, UVA, and JPL for significantly enhancing the rapid creation of innovative affordable products and missions is described. ISE uses a synergistic combination of leading-edge technologies, including high-performance computing, high-capacity communications and networking, virtual product development, knowledge-based engineering, computational intelligence, human-computer interaction, and product information management. The environment will link scientists, design teams, manufacturers, suppliers, and consultants who participate in the mission synthesis, as well as in the creation and operation of the aerospace system. It will radically advance the process by which complex science missions are synthesized, and high-tech engineering systems are designed, manufactured, and operated. The evolution of engineering design is described along with the shortcomings of current product development techniques. The need for ISE to create high-science payoff missions and aerospace systems at affordable costs is discussed. The five major components critical to ISE and some of their sub-elements are described: namely, human-ISE interaction; infrastructure for distributed collaboration; rapid synthesis and simulation tools; intelligent life-cycle system integration; and cultural change in the creative process. Related government and industry programs are outlined and future impact of ISE on complex missions and aerospace systems is discussed.  相似文献

目前,我国民用飞机维修手册验证工作尚无相关标准和规范,亟需开展相关研究工作,争取早日建立完备的手册验证体系。在国产某型客机试飞阶段,结合试飞改装工作进行大批量维修手册操作验证工作,提出手册验证操作的技术要求、操作流程和实施要点;以襟翼高升力系统和结构部件的飞机维修手册验证程序为例,从实际操作可行性和省时性角度出发,开展手册验证计划编排和验证实施方法设计,总结维修操作难度较大的襟翼拆装程序编写实施要点、注意事项、常见维修性问题及改进方法,为后续验证工作提出建议。  相似文献

This article presents a review of the state of the art and present status of active aeroelastic rotor control research for wind turbines. Using advanced control concepts to reduce loads on the rotor can offer great reduction to the total cost of wind turbines. With the increasing size of wind turbine blades, the need for more sophisticated load control techniques has induced the interest for locally distributed aerodynamic control systems with build-in intelligence on the blades. Such concepts are often named in popular terms ‘smart structures’ or ‘smart rotor control’. The review covers the full span of the subject, starting from the need for more advanced control systems emerging from the operating conditions of modern wind turbines and current load reduction control capabilities. An overview of available knowledge and up-to date progress in application of active aerodynamic control is provided, starting from concepts, methods and achieved results in aerospace and helicopter research. Moreover, a thorough analysis on different concepts for smart rotor control applications for wind turbines is performed, evaluating available options for aerodynamic control surfaces, actuators (including smart materials), sensors and control techniques. Next, feasibility studies for wind turbine applications, preliminary performance evaluation and novel computational and experimental research approaches are reviewed. The potential of load reduction using smart rotor control concepts is shown and key issues are discussed. Finally, existing knowledge and future requirements on modeling issues of smart wind turbine rotors are discussed. This study provides an overview of smart rotor control for wind turbines, discusses feasibility of future implementation, quantifies key parameters and shows the challenges associated with such an approach.  相似文献

多面多孔式装配是航天航空等大尺度部件装配/装调常见的连接形式之一,其空间装配关系复杂,调配环节多且存在耦合,以试错式的装配作业方式存在难度大、需反复试装与调配、装配质量一致性差、装配效率低等问题。采用"有向点"表征轴/孔配合的空间装配关系,提出了一种基于有向点集的多面多孔式装配协调数学模型,通过奇异值分解(SVD)分解法对基于有向点集的协调模型进行最优匹配运算,给出了装配调整量的计算方法。最后,以实际工程需求为应用背景,在实验室环境下进行了多面多孔式装配协调试验,结果表明基于测量数据的装配偏差分析与装配调整量计算方法可行。  相似文献

针对焊接结构完整性研究的需要,建立了焊接数据管理数据库系统,并在此基础上结合BS7910评定方法建立了焊接缺陷评定专家系统。该系统采用模块化设计思路,采用面向对象设计方法,对整个系统进行总体设计。该系统实现了焊接工艺数据的信息化管理,可进行多种焊接方法焊接工艺数据的管理和查询,结合专家系统的合于使用评定方法,可对含缺陷结构进行2个级别的安全评定和裂纹容限尺寸计算。  相似文献

Urban utilities are the technologies by which are provided life support services, resource distribution, and information transfers to the individuals and institutions in the city. These utilities now require about one third of the budgets of all major cities and are rapidly increasing in cost. Technological innovation in these systems has been minor, yet they are the aspects of urban function most sensitive to technological change. Systems engineering, using criteria based upon urban development needs, and large scale demonstration programs affords the best opportunity for development of utility technologies that satisfy rather than limit urban development and social organization.  相似文献

The topics, advanced aircraft electric system and all-electric airplane, inspire a broad range of concepts from the evolutionary to the revolutionary. The revolutionary developments are exciting to the research and development community but find little encouragement or acceptance from airframe developers whose objective is to build an advanced technology airplane using only-off-the-shelf, proven equipment. Their anthem rings "We know how bad the ___________ is, but we have learned to live with it. We have only your vision of how good an advanced system will be and fear to chance it. "However, the cost of living with these known systems combined with the escalating cost of fuel and the military need to address advanced mission capability demands more than a patch called improved reliability and maintainability. The time is at hand to demonstrate an evolutionary approach to achieve a revolutionary improvement.
