The effect of the clutter-to-noise ratio on the performance of a Doppler filter is considered. Clutter is assumed to have a power level which is unknown and varies in range. The assessment of the performance of a Doppler filter is based on the gain of the filter, which is the normalized output signal-to-interference ratio improvement at a given Doppler. The gain is generally a complex function of the statistics of the clutter. New upper and lower bounds on the gain differential between the expected design point clutter-to-noise ratio and the actual clutter-to-noise ratio are found. These bounds are independent of the clutter covariance matrix and are only a function of the unknown clutter-to-noise ratio. The bounds are valid for both Gaussian and non-Gaussian noise and for arbitrary linear filters. The upper and lower bounds differ by the theoretical coherent integration gain, 10 logN dB, where N is the number of pulses. A tighter lower bound is found for the case when the filters are matched filters. A simple exact expression is found for matched filters assuming a Gaussian Markov clutter model as the clutter spectral width approaches zero. An easily implementable adaptive procedure is given which improves performance due to the unknown clutter-to-noise ratio. This work extends a previous result, valid for the Emerson filter, that shows the effect of clutter-to-noise ratio on performance in terms of an average quantity, the improvement factor  相似文献

A general method of continually restructuring an optimum Bayes-Kalman tracking filter is proposed by conceptualizing a growing tree of filters to maintain optimality on a target exhibiting maneuver variables. This tree concept is then constrained from growth by quantizing the continuously sensed maneuver variables and restricting these to a small value from which an average maneuver is calculated. Kalman filters are calculated and carried in parallel for each quantized variable. This constrained tree of several parallel Kalman filters demands only modest om; puter time, yet provides very good performance. This concept is implemented for a Doppler tracking system and the performance is compared to an extended Kalman filter. Simulation results are presented which show dramatic tracking improvement when using the adaptive tracking filter.  相似文献

A new methodology for the design of navigation systems for autonomous vehicles is introduced. Using simple kinematic relationships, the problem of estimating the velocity and position of an autonomous vehicle is solved by resorting to special bilinear time-varying filters. These are the natural generalization of linear time-invariant complementary filters that are commonly used to properly merge sensor information available at low frequency with that available in the complementary region. Complementary filters lend themselves to frequency domain interpretations that provide valuable insight into the filtering design process. This work extends these properties to the time-varying setting by resorting to the theory of linear differential inclusions and by converting the problem of weighted filter performance analysis into that of determining the feasibility of a related set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Using this set-up, the stability of the resulting filters as well as their "frequency-like" performance can be assessed using efficient numerical analysis tools that borrow from convex optimization techniques. The mathematical background that is required for complementary time-varying filter analysis and design is introduced. Its application to the design of a navigation system that estimates position and velocity of an autonomous vehicle by complementing position information available from GPS with the velocity information provided by a Doppler sonar system is described.  相似文献

The author calculates the effectiveness of clutter suppression of a moving-target-indicator (MTI) filter in tandem with a fast-Fourier-transform (FFT) Doppler filter bank, taking into account the transient response of the MTI filter. Both recursive and nonrecursive filters are considered. The analysis is extended to the high-pulse-repetition-frequency (PRF) case with clutter fold over. In linear transversal filters for signal processing, the impulse response of the filter is syntheszed in a sampled form by means of a tapped delay line with weighted and summed taps. The synthesis procedure consists of sampling the specified impulse response at appropriate intervals and using the sample values as the tap weights. A nonuniform sampling procedure for the synthesis of the impulse response is introduced, which can produce results more conveniently than the classical Shannon sampling procedure because of the simplicity of the transversal filter implementation. According to the new procedure, in the time domain the samples are taken at points where the instantaneous phase of the impulse response is a multiple of ir radians. The spectral distribution which ensues in the frequency domain consists of a series of spectra all having the same fractional bandwidth. The transversal filters synthesized by this sampling criterion are referred to as phase-sampled impulse response (PSIR) filters. An important application of PSI R filters is to the generation and matched filtering of a large class of AM and FM waveforms.  相似文献

The author designates matched filters that are completely characterized by the velocity of the target as assumed velocity filters (AVFs). Like most matched filtering techniques where the signal parameters range in a continuum, the AVF must be implemented suboptimally by partitioning the velocity space. The author investigates the possibility of using a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) loss factor as the criterion for the partition. The loss factor is a measurement of the loss of SNR at the output of the matched filter due to mismatch of filter parameters. In the scenario of detecting a moving satellite from a ground-based sensor, because of the vast sky the sensor has to search, it is important to keep the number of filters minimal. The author shows that, with a fixed loss factor, the number of filters required for coverage increases linearly as the span of the two-dimensional velocity space increases quadratically. The rate of increase is further reduced when the loss factor is made proportional to expected target angular speed  相似文献

The effects of IF bandpass mismatch errors on adaptive cancellers are investigated. Frequency mismatch errors occur because of errors in the synthesis process of the bandpass filters which are designed to be identical and are in each input channel. Tapped-delay line transversal filters can be used to compensate for these frequency mismatches and thus improve cancellation performance. A pole/zero error model of the filters is developed whereby closed-form solutions of the maximum achievable average cancellation are obtained. This cancellation is a function of the order of the ideally matched frequency filters, the number of time-delay taps in the compensating transversal filter, the bandwidth-tapped time-delay product, and the constraints on these parameters. A design procedure is outlined for optimizing the canceller with respect to these parameters and their constraints; specifically, results are presented for Butterworth-type input filters. It is shown that an arbitrarily low output noise residue cannot be achieved by arbitrarily increasing the number of time-delay taps  相似文献

An infinite impulse response (IIR) inverse filter structure is presented, and compared with the performance of two finite impulse response (FIR) designs. The IIR design is shown to provide better performance and be able to improve further (e.g., -1.4 dB in sidelobe levels per unit delay increase for the length-13 Barker sequence) by increasing delay. The performance parameters of this IIR inverse filter suggest a design criterion for sequences on which the filter operates; that is related to the roots of the Z transform polynomial of the sequence. The sidelobe-optimal sequence derived according to this criterion is shown to provide sharper sidelobe reduction (-6 dB per unit delay increase for the sidelobe optimal length-13 sequence)  相似文献

A general procedure for analyzing ground clutter effects in airborne pulse Doppler radars is described. The quantity computed is the expected clutter power at the output of any specified range gate/ Doppler filter processing cell. The procedure has been computerized and is quite general with respect to antenna gain pattern, clutter cross section variation, PRF, pulse and range gate shapes, and the various receiver processing functions. It is applicable only to distributed ground clutter and linear processing, and excludes the dynamic effects of continuous antenna scanning. To exemplify the use of the procedure, two studies conducted for a postulated high PRF radar are described, and the results are presented.  相似文献

Most adaptive speckle filters are based on the local coefficient of variation, which serves to measure the heterogeneity of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images. However, the sensitivity of the measurements to speckle and noise of SAR images would greatly deteriorate the speckle reduction. This article, based upon the information theory, presents a novel parameter for the heterogeneity measurement as a general index to quantitate the SAR image heterogeneity. Further, as a new speckle reduction algorithm based on the aforesaid quantitative heterogeneity measurements, it puts forward a heterogeneity-based speckle reduction filter (HBSRF), which uses the information-theoretic heterogeneity measurements as a criterion to classify the SAR images as belonging to homogeneous or heterogeneous regions. Then the finite iteration procedure and edge detection algorithms are adopted to strike the best balance between speckle reduction and edge preservation. The results from the computer simulation have demonstrated that the proposed effective method is superior to the conventional speckle filters based on the local coefficient of variation both in textural preservation and speckle reduction.  相似文献

The design and evaluation of an adaptive moving target indicator (MTI) filter, the adaptive canceler for extended clutter (ACEC) is dealt with, taking into consideration adaptivity to clutter mean Doppler frequency. This consideration is one of the most important operational requirements in adaptive MTI's and permits a relatively simple hardware implementation as compared to more general optimization and adaptivity criteria (briefly described). The ACEC's algorithm compensates in real time for the clutter mean Doppler frequency. Performances have been obtained by digital computer simulation in various operational conditions.  相似文献

Gyro monitoring filters are used to estimate and correct gyro drift rates of local-level inertial navigation systems. Conventional gyro monitoring filters are usually designed based on a simplified model of gyro drift rate. Furthermore, the effectiveness of these filters-and of many filters of the "Kalman" type-is often measured in terms of the root mean square (rms) criterion in contrast to the spectral content criterion typical of classical Wiener filtering theory. This paper has two objectives: to propose a gyro monitoring filter which is based on a more detailed model of gyro drift rate; and to propose a method of filter performance evaluation which uses as criterion a measure of the spectral content of the error process. The proposed gyro monitoring filter is shown to have improved spectral contents resulting in superior navigation performance for the gyro error models used in the calculations (comparable to commercial-grade aircraft gyros).  相似文献

When low ripple is required from a switched mode dc-dc converter, dissipative active filters offer an alternative to passive LC and coupled inductor filters. Analytical and experimental results are presented for a simple active ripple filter. The filter employs a pair of current transformers as sensors for feedforward and feedback control and two metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) as cancellation current drivers. Measurements demonstrate good ripple attenuation up to 5 MHz, more than 70 dB being obtained at 100 kHz, the switching frequency of a test converter. The overall efficiency was measured as 95%, with room for further improvement. Application of Three-Dimensional Filtering to Moving Target Detection   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
The standard approach to the detection of a stationary target immersed within an optically observed scene is to use integration to separate the target energy from the background clutter. When the target is nonstationary and moves with fixed velocity relative to the clutter, the procedure for integrating the target signal is no longer obvious. In this paper it is shown that the problem of tracking a target having a fixed velocity can be cast into a general framework of three-dimensional filter theory. From this point of view, the target detection problem reduces to the problem of finding optimal three-dimensional filters in the three-dimensional transform domain and processing the observed scene via this filtering. The design of these filters is presented, taking into account the target, clutter, and optical detection models. Performance is computed for a basic clutter model, showing the effective increase in detectability as a function of the target velocity. The three-dimensional transform approach is readily compatible with VLSI array processing technology.  相似文献

In this paper three-dimensional (3-D) finite-impulse response (FIR) filters are proposed for moving target detection and tracking from multiframe space-based infrared (SBIR) data. An optimal, in the lp sense, 3-D FIR filter design technique is proposed which is suitable for the above application. This technique is the first 3-D FIR design of its kind presented in the open literature. Directional, matched, and adaptive 3-D filtering techniques are proposed. Prior to the filtering, clutter mean estimation and mean subtraction are required. Real time implementation of directional and/or matched filters for processing maneuvering targets is discussed and filter design methods are proposed. Finally, performance comparisons of the proposed and other available 3-D FIR and infinite-impulse response (IIR) filters, on real SBIR data, are presented in which the advantages of the proposed 3-D filters are shown  相似文献

低轨星座接收机面临大多普勒频移及频繁快速换星等设计约束,对其载波跟踪环路设计提出了较高的动态适应性与跟踪精度要求。针对以上问题,提出了一种基于参数控制的载波跟踪算法。该算法引入环路控制因子参数,将环路滤波器分为牵引和跟踪两阶段。基于理论建模推导环路控制因子的最优参数配置原则,指导实现牵引和跟踪两种状态滤波器的协同配合,在牵引阶段有效引导大多普勒信号快速入锁,在跟踪阶段精确估计载波频移参数,实现基于低轨星载平台的GNSS信号快速准确跟踪。理论与仿真结果均表明基于参数控制的载波跟踪算法能够有效提升环路的动态适应性与跟踪精度,满足低轨星载接收机的设计需求。与传统算法相比,该算法在保证信号跟踪精度的同时,能够将收敛时间缩短78%,且环路设计简单,易于硬件实现。  相似文献

基于分散滤波理论的联合滤波算法,可以有效地降低组合导航系统的计算负担,并且增强系统的容错性能。给出了一种联合滤波算法中信息分配系数的自适应计算方法,能够使联合系统根据导航过程中各传感器的信息质量的变化合理地反馈全局信息。仿真结果表明,该算法可以有效地降低由于导航子系统降级带来的滤波误差。  相似文献

A new class of staggered PRF MTI radar processors is developed in this paper. These processors are constrained to achieve a specified value of MTI improvement and, subject to this constraint, minimize variations in processor response as a function of target Doppler frequency.
